That’s unfortunate. Yes the courses (Silverwing at least) were in brutal condition but I actually enjoyed the location as I’m an av-geek so the plane watching was a bonus. Hope they can salvage something as there isn’t much else you can do with land with that proximity to an airport.

Silver wing might be the worst course in Calgary. And that’s saying a lot considering some
Courses.

I didn’t play there but made a trip to Carlsbad from SD to play, which was quite awesome.

The Coronado Muni is a cool one if it's not one of your regulars. The location is awesome and it's relatively cheap. Not the most jaw-dropping layout but being right on the water in the bay is a nice change from the typical 'valley of houses' you see so much in SoCal.

What's the best option for membership (or semi-membership) if your budget is on the super low side ($1500-2500). I'm likely going with Playgolf Calgary, but would love to know if there's something else within grasp.

How old are you? Some courses have intermediate rates all the way up to 36

Just got confirmation for 3 Tee Times at El Cameleon Golf Club in Myakoba.

Can't wait to play that course. Bucket List.

If you're under 40 years of age, Nanton has a deal where you pay $800 for unlimited golf/7 days a week

Heading to Palm Springs next week.

Definitely going to play PGA Stadium (kinda like playing courses I see on TV), are any other must plays? Any hidden gems?

My parents were just in Palm Springs for vacation last week, so I researched which courses were in great shape during their stay. If you are into well maintained courses, I highly recommend playing Classic Club, Desert Willow (play Firecliff Course, Mountain View course recently finished maintenance and may not be quite peak form), and La Quinta Mountain and Dunes courses. The parents played all three courses and confirmed all were in pristine shape. You’ll also be happy to hear that Stadium is in tremendous shape right now. The parents also played Stadium, and said Stadium was probably in the best shape of the bunch and was also the hardest course during their trip with La Quinta Mountain coming in 2nd on the difficulty scale.

Have fun on your trip, Palm Springs is awesome for winter golf!
