Depending on the contract, this should be a good add. I had an open mind about him when I heard that the Flames signed him to a PTO, and wasn't very impressed to begin with. He has been getting better, and his speed really pushes the defencemen back, plus he is great on the forecheck. He is great on the PK. I bet his goal scoring rebounds a bit as well, but even if it doesn't, just having a guy out there that can play solid minutes on the PK will help this team out.

Rinaldo is an interesting case. I also like his footspeed and his ability to hit, but I really dislike some of his hits that he has been made famous for. If he can control that aspect of his game, I am all for signing him as well since I do think he is an effective forechecker, and a player that fills two holes - more speed and more physicality. Just really wish he wasn't a dirty player.

If we signed Rinaldo and Reider for 700k I would assume it would be Quine and Dube that get sent down. Love to Dube make it but if tre can get them at 700k it would add a little cap space sending dube and quine down

Unless they waive Czarnik. Not sure how much cap relief they get if he clears

I don't think so. The Flames cannot bank any cap space while they are drawing relief from LTIR.

Unless they run with a 22 man roster, which Treliving has hinted that they might.

Of course. I had forgotten that with Tkachuk the Flames are now at 23. Thanks.

Not to mention Elias Lindholm. Who was one of the Flames most consistent and reliable PK player. (Led all fwd players in PK time)

In the interview I heard it wasn't a hint. He said they will do it for as long as they can and expect a lot of back and forth with Stockton.

That's not too bad. Now he just needs to core at least 1 goal.

Question is, do they try to sneak him through waivers now?

I wonder how the AHL portion of the deal is structured.

Couldn't they have gotten him for cheaper?

Assuming Dube goes down, which seems foregone, one of Reider, Quine or Czarnik will need to go through waivers absent a trade.

It won’t be Reider - they just signed him. czarnik saves them a little dough if he goes down, more if he’s claimed.

They probably would have told him that when he signed. Have my doubts that he would sign a 2way if he knew he was going on waivers instantly. My guess its Quine

700, 2 way. Doesn't hurt us one bit and all the room and motivation for him to prove he adds value. And stick it to the Oilers in the process.

Karma says he'll score at least one game winner against the coilers this season
