Arizona Coyotes at Calgary Flames - 7:30 PM MST
Your Projected Lineups:

Lots to discuss on this one. How will Smith do on his return between the pipes? Will the sloppy play of the last two games continue, or has Peters got the troops to tighten things up? Arizona is coming off a victory in Edmonton last night, how will they respond on their back-to-back? Will Gaudreau's point streak continue?
Discuss!

I'm conflicted. I hate watching Smith play but I love watching the team in front of him.

I'm an idiot.
Mods, please change the post title to reflect that Arizona is in Calgary, not the other way around.

You do realise that if we win, you’re going to have to do this for the rest of the season?

I love the person who is Mike Smith. I am NOT a fan of the Goaltender Mike Smith. Flams will win (4-3 OT) but it'll be a squeaker due to two peewee level fumbles by Mike.

Mike Smith will pitch a perfect game tonight. James Neal will score twice, Derek Ryan will score once, Gaudreau will chip in four points, and the Flames will win 7-0.

This team appears to be in a slump despite being on a 4 game winning streak. I hope they are able to right the ship tonight because Smith likely won’t be as sharp as Rittich has been of late. The Sharks are playing great so we need to keep winning and this is a game the Flames should win.

ARZ coming off a road win looking to climb in the standings. CGY needs to establish their game right off the top.
Bennett Jankowski Neal looks like they can have that element to be a heavy, cycling line for the playoffs. They should work on that game a little more - figure out some set plays to get a greasy goal when called for.
Let's see if they can roll 4 lines and if the fourth line can be effective in their minutes.
Hopefully the d pairings can return to their great form and we see stout play from the net out and then transition to a relentless offensive attack.

I'm a bit worried about tonight.
- Team has been getting off to slow starts
- They had a night off on a Saturday
- Seem to look past awful teams like AZ
- Smith in net
I still think the Flames pull it out in overtime 4-3.

It is a good game to give Rittich a night off. Sabres and Red Wings will be tougher opponents.
Saying that, the Flames need to have a good start and not take any team for granted.

I was hoping for the team to have it's best effort in some time as they haven't been very good of late and have been fortunate to be opportunistic on offense. Even more important now that Smith is in net that they play solid through 60 minutes.

I think Smith just needs to realize he doesn't have to be the hero on this team. Don't try to do too much ('save the world') and do what he said he was doing recently - just let the game come to him.
Doesn't need to be flashy just stop the puck. Play to his strengths but just stay in his lane.

Is the closest the Flames have come to three lines that are interesting? 3M line playing well while Bennett and Jankowski seem to be helping Neal along. Very good sign.
I think Frolik to the fourth line wasn't a "challenge" as CC kept referencing but an honest effort to roll four lines and not wanting three tiny forwards on the fourth line together ... didn't work so Frolik back up and Hathaway returns tonight.

Smith starting maybe helps the team show up focused for the start of the game. I also think we’ll be pleasantly surprised by how Smith plays tonight.
