All this chatter and then watch it end up being Tavares.

Let’s not go off j marshy Bosco again. He doesn’t know anything. He speculates and has occasionally got lucky after like 3 weeks of a rumour being well known. A la Jagr.

Yeah, there's no reason for the Sens to trade Stone. He's their best forward and he's 26. Even if they go scorched-earth rebuild, he's in the age where he could be part of the turnaround.

Sure, but does he want to stay in Ottawa?

I'm sure Tampa fans would be ok with Callan Foote for Johnny Gaudreau too.

How is asking if we'd trade a good defensive prospect who's never played an NHL game for a bonafide top line winger / top winger the league a relevant question?

Unless you meant part of a (much bigger) package?

There is the question. If he is available you go after him hard though, he would be an amazing fit for this team. It would assure Mike Stone would be staying though although I could see Andersson being part of the price going back. Brodie+Bennett+Andersson could well be what it takes. Despite my expectation that Bennett will break out it is still not a sure thing so I still pull the trigger on that every day and twice on Sunday. Andersson is going to be a top 4 guy but we have the depth to let him go and getting Brodie off this team is just a huge bonus imo, let him bleed goals for the Sens.

Wish there could be another deadline for summer so we could just find out what the #### the roster will look like without all the drawn out trade/signing speculation.

The Jagr watch going on for weeks last year was painful.

EDM is talking with STL about Parayko,
EDM is going to try and sign Chimera,

CGY is talking with OTT about Hoffman,
CGY is talking with NYR about Hayes,
CGY has been taking calls on Brodie, Bennett, Ferland, and Stone
CGY is going to try and sign JVR (will offer 5/6 years at $6.5M),
CGY is going to try and sign Derek Ryan (who wants 3 years at $2-$2.5M)
I completely believe these. Not that they will happen, but that there is talk.

Stone reminds me of Scheifele and as a winger that feels like a very comfortable move that solves the Flames need short term and long term. Essentially it would be similar to the Dougie trade. Which I think nobody regrets at all.

If BT is in discussions for the guy you need to make it happen while he's available.

I agree if you get him for Brodie+Bennett you do the deal but I am not as pumped if thst package includes one or more of Andersson/Kylington/Valimaki/Fox/Dube/Parsons That would basically be all of our trade chips for one player.

Assuming Brodie + Bennett is enough to get Mark Stone, what else would you give up to acquire Duchene in the same deal?

Andersson (Keeping Mike Stone if we trade for Mark Stone)
Jankowski (Have Monahan, Backlund and now Duchene as top 3 C's)
2020 1st (Conditional on Duchene signing an extension with the Flames, 2020 2nd if he doesn't)

That enough? Too much?

Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland
Tkachuk - Duchene - Stone
Mangiapane - Backlund - Frolik
Dube - D. Ryan - Foo

Shore/Lazar

Giordano - Hamilton
Hickey - Hamonic
Kulak - Stone

Hogstrom

Smith
Rittich/Gillies

I am in the minority that we don't trade/sign for another center with the exception of Tavares or ROR. But, how else is Jankowski going to be able to gain experience as the 3C and eventually work his way up to the #2 spot or by some miracle become our top center if he doesn't get the chance to? Monahan was given the opportunity, look where he is now. With a couple more years on his belt, Jankowski could very well become as good of a center as Monahan if he continues to play well.

Obviously Panarin>Stone>Simmonds but id rather the flames go for stone. Will cost less than Panarin, probably less risk, Dorion also isn’t the most competent

Not in my books. Panarin might be the more skilled offensive guy but I will take Stone's all around play any day.

Add me in the mix of getting Mark Stone. The guy would be the perfect piece to complement the 1st line of the Flames. I would even move Hamilton for him.
