The Bruins held firm on Pastrnak and other GMs have to do the same.

Be less worried about a guy potentially leaving in free agency after six years to keep the sanity in check on these lengthy deals at too high a cap hit.
One of these premium contracts (Draisaitl, Eichel etc.) is going to blow up in a GM's face - will be interesting to see how that impacts some GM thinking.

I wouldn't put any stock on any article suggesting Jagr would step away after 10 games. He hasn't come this far to just say "nope, I quit".

No chance he quits, not Jagrs MO in my opinion. Just needs time to get his conditioning.

Well, they are more or less the present version of the Oilers' 6x6 contracts so...

If that's how Jagr looks when he's not feeling good, I can't wait to see how he looks when he is feeling good.

Jagr played 3 more minutes than GG originally planned. He will be fine.

Is this a joke?

We'd be lucky to get Chucky at 2x that number. Getting him signed at 6x6 would be a huge win for the Flames with the path he's on

If the Flames give him max 8 year term he will likely be the highest paid player on the roster after his next deal if he can take a step this year and another next year.

6.25m x 8, 50m contract. Fair for both sides.

Of course we need to see how he plays this season, but I think that would be quite optimistic on a 8 year deal. That would make more sense if you were talking a 6 year deal. I think on a 8 year deal he's going to get at least $7 million. Assuming he is a 25 Goals 40 Assists type player this season.

Never underestimate the power of the Wizard and his Giordano-ceiling.

Sure, but if there is a Giordano ceiling then I doubt it's a 8 year deal for Tkachuk. Most likely a 6 year deal.

Friedman speculated the Avs are now looking for good prospects that maybe aren’t quite NHL ready yet. I still think our defensive prospects would be of interest, and there’s a league-wide premium on d-men right now.

Maybe they'll do a Duchene for Serga....no wait. Probably have to be Beaul...nope. Drouin?
