$250-$400 / sq. ft.
Get 5 quotes. Lop off the most expensive and the cheapest. Then evaluate the 3 left.
I did a 166 sq. ft. mudroom/laundry/breakfast nook addition on 3 screw piles a couple of years ago. Cost finished up around $350/sq ft. I did have $12k in windows/doors, 8" bevel cedar siding, cedar soffits and some expensiveish cement tile but also did some of the work myself.
I'm in the industry so I handled my own drawings and permits so that cost isn't included.

The city doesn't typically own that land but rather you aren't allowed to build in those setbacks.

Does anyone have recommendations for a contractor that could install a security screen on our front door?
My wife just had a very unpleasant encounter with a couple older ladies who appeared to be confused/looking for directions, but when she opened the door, they stepped inside the swing of our front door and started talking. Luckily they didn't stop her from closing the door.
My in-laws got one installed awhile back but can't remember who they used...

The city owns to the property line as far as I understand it. Then it looks like you need to be 3m back from that in most cases, as far as I can tell. In my case the property line is about 25 feet from the house, and the sidewalk is 20 feet further away. So I've got 20 feet of lawn that isn't mine to build on.

Does anybody know where I should start looking for somebody to reattach a piece of flashing that fell off my house? It's from the front edge of a gable right at the top of our house - probably 30 feet off the ground, well above my comfort level. It might be reachable with a tall step ladder off our upper balcony but that seems pretty terrifying to me. More likely you'd need to do it with a ladder from ground level.
Related question - how important is the flashing in snowy weather? Are we going to have moisture issues if we don't fix this quickly or can we wait for warmer weather to deal with it.
A picture highlighting the piece I'm talking about

Call a siding/eavestrough company, they should be able to do it fairly easily. The flashing is going to be covering wood fascia board, so it is for protection, but the wood isn't going to rot away on you in a few months.

Does anyone have recommendations for someone who's quality and reasonably priced for doing repairs of cracks in the walls and ceiling. Ideally someone who can work with drywall and plaster walls.

So nest vs honeywell thermostat. Is there really a need to pay more for nest?
I love the look of nest-e and the price is better. Is this a coke vs pepsi thing? I have dual zone, and AC on 2nd floor if that helps.

I had the Honeywell Lyric Round but didn’t have whatever wires are required for power so it ran on battery and often would say battery low after I put a new one in. A few times (over a couple years) it wouldn’t connect to the wifi and required me to reset it to defaults. Eventually I put my old one back up.

Theres some government rebates happening for smart thermostats. I got a cheque for $100 when I bought my nest. Pretty sure its still available.

Do you have an HRV? If so, NEST won't work.

I have a Honeywell (dealer installed version), that runs on the only two wires that were run up to my thermostat location.
Fan Control, power, controls everything just from the two wires.
Nest can’t do that.

What is the best way to remove then reinstall this style of railing with minimal damage so I can get a couch downstairs?

Underneath those things that look like buttons are the screws that are holding the rail to the wall. If they're not glued in, you can take them all out.

Also, score the edge at the wall with a utility knife or you might pull the paint off.
