Even the Nugent-Bowman guy at the Athletic came across as an absolute blowhard on 960 this week. Just absolutely insufferable.

And yet, amazingly it's not enough for the greaser faithful. I went to the game last night with a friend who is a die-hard Edmonton fan and we got onto the topic of media homerism, at which point he proceeds to tell me that the oilers never get the coverage they deserve and that Katz should just buy out all the media outlets so the oilers could finally get a fair shake. Why not play Milano with line mates he might skate next to if he made the cut? I don't understand putting him with the ahl squad if you're looking for a capable winger for Kadri or backlund . Playing him with those guys to see how he looks there is more logical no? They also make it harder for him and Eakin to make impressions when they are out-matched in these games .

I think they will — I think we'll see cuts before long, with guys like Milano, Phillips, Ruzicka, and Eakin moved to much stronger groups.

Wouldn't be surprised if cuts came as soon as this afternoon/evening.

I have heard the same. And it sort of makes sense, as everything is relative. The local guys are such over the top homers, that the national media looks to be snubbing them by comparison. And the more they get 'snubbed' nationally, the more the homers go full Gene Principe.

Might also see some of group 3 if not all of them moved early tomorrow as there’s really no need to keep them around other than biding time.
