Why did the women allow that Smith to present them with medals with big smiles? Issue a statement after that he should step down. Seems like a odd way to protest.
Yes that really bothered me. I would have refused him giving me that medal!

Maybe because its bull#### to put the expectation for remedy on their shoulders?

What's confounding me about this is that the Flames gave him an A in a preseason game and seem to be sticking by him completely. So on one hand he looks like he is an involved party and yet his team, who you think would know the truth, seems to be saying he wasn't.

Why would the flames know the truth?

Guaranteed many on the 'inside' know exactly who the 8 are.

I won’t speak for the truth, how would any of us know, but I expect everyone on the team has heard Dube’s side of the story.

Dube has said multiple times, “I wish I could talk about it”. That comment is directed at the media & public.

But it’d be naive to think he hasn’t done just that within the room & organization.

Oh I thought you meant the truth. Not his side of the story or the 8 names. Both of which I assume are widely known in hockey circles.

How does Edmonton continue to employ Bob Nicholson?

Bill Peters was forced to step down for a racist tirade decades ago and rightfully so, I don't see how this is any different.

Same team that employs Evander Kane. Seems to explain it enough to me.

Totally agree but the Flames employ Brad Pascall who had big roles at Hockey Canada from 1996 to 2014. When he quit he was vice president of hockey operations and national teams. Hard to think he doesn't know all about the skeletons.

HC received money from registrants and can basically use that money in which ever way they see fit, as long as it's not illegal. Creating a separate fund and paying people off for sexual abuse claims probably isn't illegal. Highly unethical? Absolutely. But not illegal.

I think there are a number of hockey people that must be at pucker factor 11 right now.

Can we acknowledge that there is at least some difference between being a senior cog in two different organizations and being the undisputed leader who set the toxic direction for two different organizations (perhaps continued the toxic direction of the Oilers would be more accurate)?

Being combative and pointing the finger at other organizations and industries as being guilty of suppressing bad behaviour does not seem like a good look. Just my opinion.

How the entire board and executive hasn't been kicked to the curb is beyond me.

Meet the new (female) boss, same as the old (male) boss:

"What we have heard is there is a call for a new perspective. Hockey Canada has secured an outside perspective. We're taking steps to change how we communicate," Skinner said.

"Our board does not share the view that Hockey Canada should be making more leadership changes at this time. As a board, we continue to support the CEO and management."
