Listening to Herdman's post match interview with Onesoccer. He's hurting after that one. Stating multiple times how they need to take their chances and feels they could've won that match with clinical finishing. Says there are positives to take out of the game but the biggest thing is they need to finish their opportunities. Canada showed they can play with a team like Uruguay but at the end of the day it is a 2-0 loss
I didn't watch, but that is concerning to read. Canada's strength is in attack (Tajon, Larin, David, etc). The midfield and backline leave much to be desired IMO, but I thought attack wouldn't be an issue.
Fikayo Tomori is still eligible to switch to Canada. He definitely won't be in the England World Cup squad and he'd easily be Canada's second best player after Davies.
Certainly some major issues at the back and a Swiss cheese midfield. With enough tape for teams to watch now, could get ugly if Croatia and Belgium target some of those players specifically. We were lucky to get out of Edmoton with 3 points in both games, after some very shoddy play at the back and Borjan bailing the defenders out in those games.
Attack will be ok, have talented guys with the nose for the net, and who know what to do around the opponents box, at a European standard/level, but they still need proper service from midfield and the back, and, the team needs to be in a tight game (as opposed to playing catch-up of 2 goals or more) to make things happen and not face 10 men behind the ball.
He went to the hospital. Not sure if that is standard protocol on Germany or if they had reasons to send Davies there. Either way the panic level is rising
It's been exactly one year to the day since that Davies goal that was really the beginning of Team Canada's ascension to the World Cup. A showcase of outstanding skill and determination... a watershed moment in Canadian soccer as the announcer that day put it, as you will.

As good of an individual effort you'll see at any level. What an absolute stud and star Phonzie is.
Reminds me of Luka's insane effort in the semi final of the WC. Chases down a guaranteed out to keep the play alive while the defender (Bellingham?) gives up. That's how you lead a team.
That first episode of the We Can documentary series is pretty good! Did an effective job of getting me excited for the tournament, departing in 38 days!

Yes, I will be there for the group stage. Have tickets to the three Canada games, Brazil-Serbia, and Netherlands-Qatar so far. I will probably end up going to more games
