That final play call for A&M was atrocious, ball didn't even look like it got to the end zone so even if he caught it they'd be short.

I don’t know — the execution was horrible by the QB and possibly the receiver. It’s only a six yard pattern to the short side of the field so the QB can’t be late with the throw. He took two steps back and then threw — in order for that play to work out of shotgun he basically has to catch the snap, plant his foot, and throw it to the pylon. Not sure if it was how the play was designed or the route the receiver ran but it didn’t have a chance the way they ran it.

You’d like to give your QB some options if you trust him even a little. I didn’t love the play call either even if they bungled the execution.

Harbaugh’s been studying the Denver Broncos red zone playbook. Might be cool to throw to the WRs at some point this season once the prerequisite 8 or 9 games establishing the run is done with
