Then it drops to 909, 820, 618 and 565, not in order, but for C's with 500+ FOA with a higher FO% than Lipinski. So he's maintained a high FO% longest in the WHL this year.
Right shot center as well. Improved production and good size.

Do wonder if he will get a contract. We sure need more Right Cs with good FO skills in our prospect system. Ceiling of 3 or 4th line NHL center with lots of AHL development time?

Flames have until June 1, 2025 to sign him to an entry-level contract or lose his NHL rights. Flames have 45/50 active contracts currently.

He's a pretty bad skater. Hopefully he can make some progress in the offseason.

Winning faceoffs are a very small part of the game and won't get you to the show alone. If he can't skate or keep up with the play then he won't be an NHL player.

He's producing not great numbers as an overage player. That and the concerns about his stride have me thinking he's more likely not to get a contract at all.

Sandman, any thoughts on giving daniel hauser a shot with the wranglers potentially? Calgary kid, great whl stats this year and now all time wins leader. Good stats back in Winnipeg too with some wonky years between.

He is actually committed to the U of Wisconsin for next year, so there’s no rush to sign him anytime soon. I’m sure NHL teams will be watching him against tougher competition in the NCAA, but I’m not sure he’s good enough to overcome his size (only 5’11”). I have to admit, I’m not the best at evaluating goalies, lol.

I am interested to see which prospects graduate to the next level for 2025/26.

I wonder if Hurtig will make the jump to the Wranglers or if it would be better for him to play his 20 year old season with the Hitmen and try to add a bit more offence to his game.

I really wanted the Flames to take a chance on Aiden Fink with the Hurtig pick so I have some kind of extra hope that Hurtig becomes something.

Mar.20th:

Battaglia gets 2a, and was +3 in a 6-2 win over the Petes. He is tied for 10th (teammate and VGK 2023 6th-rounder Tuomas Uronen has been neck-and-neck with him for most of the season), with 66gp/40g/50a/90pts,+13, 34 PIM.

Sudbury loses to Oshawa, 4-1, and Mews did not play. He is tied for 19th-overall in scoring, and 3rd in scoring by D, with 67gp/14g/68a/82pts,-11, 82 PIM.

All zeroes for Lipinski, who goes 12/20 in faceoffs in a 1-0 win over Kamloops. 58gp/16g/40a/56pts,-4, 36 PIM.

Jamieson gets 1a, and was +2 in a 5-0 win over Wenatchee. He is tied for 13th in plus/minus, with 66gp/14g/22a/36pts,+38, 61 PIM.

It's amazing how many great prospects the Flames have out of the last draft or two. Lots of players over a point per game.

And a d-man 5th in OHL scoring with over 100 points? Silliness. I'm not even going to mention how he wasn't even originally invited to the WJC camp because it's just so stupid. Nope, not going there.

Mar.22nd:

Saginaw loses 6-3 to the Firebirds, and Parekh did not play.

Morin gets 1g, 2a, and was even, in a 6-5 OT win over Acadie-Bathurst. He is tied for 11th-overall in plus/minus, and is 3rd in scoring by D, with 62gp/14g/44a/58pts,+38, 36 PIM.

Gridin gets 2a, and was +1 in a 4-3 win over the Huskies. He is tied for 12th in scoring, and is tied for 15th in plus/minus, with 56gp/36g/43a/79pts,+31, 27 PIM.

Another goal for Laing, who was even in a 4-3 loss to the Raiders. 64gp/25g/23a/48gp,+18, 31 PIM.

No Jamieson in a 3-2 OT win over Wenatchee. He is tied for 13th in plus/minus, with 66gp/14g/22a/36pts,+38, 61 PIM.

He's an interesting prospect. With the likes of Parekh, Mews, Brzustewicz, etc.. putting up insanely productive seasons with 80+, 90+, 100+ point CHL seasons, Morin kind of gets a bit forgotten. It feels like there would be years where he'd be the Flames best D prospect.

I don't watch the Q, but from a stats perspective, what jumps out at me is his +/- and even strength production. He has 42 even strength points, 12 even strength goals. Both are top in the league for D by a good margin.

If keeps going as a good 2-way 5v5 defender, could be a really nice piece on the backend. Especially since the majority of the Flames D prospects are more offense first, powerplay leaning types.

Will be interesting to follow him on the Wranglers next year.

Laing may have improved his skating over the course of the season a bit, but it was a detriment when he was drafted. Still looks like he needs work in this area. The other thing is that he could be a lot more physical, especially given his size.

Last season, his defensive metrics were SPARKLING, which is good, because he's most likely going to be playing a bottom-6 role in the pros. He flashes skill, scoring potential, and smarts, though.

He looked like he was getting plenty of time at C when he started with the Blades, but he's back on the wing.

It was pretty disappointing. I wonder how much the rumours of him leaving for the NCAA next year played into not being able to settle on a new team. Looks like Ottawa really fell off after he left.

Has it been confirmed what school he will be playing for next year? I really like it for development but the threat of losing him if we don’t sign him after next season is worrisome.
