On Lindholm:
"He was probably the biggest steal in the NHL as far as trades go," Rupp said. "It certainly helps playing with the guys he plays with, but I always thought that he played the game with a high level. I liked him when he was in Carolina, but he's surrounded by a lot of talent now and can create for them, not just the other way around."

I love Lindy, what a pickup!

I don’t watch Toronto much at all, but is Marner really at that level? I always assumed Gaudreau was better, but wondering if someone who watches a lot of Marner would agree with his placement on this list.

I didn't disagree too much with anything, until I got to Huberdeau - he seemed a little high to me. But that's nitpicking.

Also, I think of Giroux as a C, but whatever.

Regardless of the actual ranking numbers, this list shows the strength of Calgary's lineup.

Gaudreau had more goals and more points. Also has better stats over their 3-year careers.

Gaudreau should be higher. But they are pretty close to a tie IMO.

Yes. You could argue he’s the best player on that team.

Marner has led teams with Auston Matthews and John Tavares in scoring, and is a strong penalty killer too. I don't think there's any denying how elite he is.

Which seems to be a problem, Dufas signing Matthews to a crazy 5 x $11.634m early was a massive mistake. without that contract Marner would have signed for much less that he's going to.

Given their ages I would say its not apples to apples.

Edit: Also Marner's defensive prowess. He's the total package.

It's a cardinal sin to place Drysaddle ahead of Johnny on any list. Johnny is the straw that stirs the drink, the German leech does not do that.

Good point. Also didn’t know he was defensively responsible as well. Without watching him much, it’s hard to know if he’s just being propped up because he’s in Toronto.

I didn't think even somebody from the east was dumb enough to fall for that.

I’m just happy Draisaitl is no longer considered a centre. Little victories.

So in the playoff match-ups the Flames Avs series had the most elite forwards on display.. and more than the 5 on display for the SCF series.

Calgary -Colorado (7) Monahan, Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Lindholm, MacKinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog

Boston – Toronto (6) Marchand, Pasternak, Bergeron, Matthews, Tavares, Marner

NYI-Pittsburgh (5) Barzal, Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel, Kessel

Winnipeg St.L (5) ROR, Taresenko, Schiefele, Wheeler, Laine

Tampa – Columbus (5) Kucherov, Stamkos, Point, Panarin, Duchene

Washington -Carolina (4) Ovechkin. Kuznetsov, Backstrom, Aho

San Jose Vegas (3) Couture, Pavelski Stone

Nashville-Dallas (2) Seguin, Benn

I'm actually quite alright with the ranking when it comes to the Flames players. I'll say Mark Stone is a bit high. I would have expected Taylor Hall to be a bit higher.

If Stone's deal had gone through, we would have had 4 wingers on that Top 25 list.

Draisaitl's ranking on this list is a crime. He should be somewhere beneath Tkachuk.
Otherwise the list seems pretty good!
