Reference was made to a Canadian professional video game team named the "Calgary Lames"

Someone on The Simpsons is a San Jose Sharks fan... or should I say San Jose Sharts!

Take that, 30 year running tv show.

Worst episode ever.

Not surprised. The Simpsons went downhill after Armin Tamzarian and has seldom been watchable since.

You know you made it when you get lampooned.

I think it's pretty funny and cool that something else from Calgary is in the cultural zeitgeist enough to be fairly roasted on a comedy program.

Also, that would actually be a funny name IRL for a team filled with angst ridden teens.

I haven't watch a Simpson's epsiode since the about a season after the Behind the Simpson's episode when the show really ground to a halt and just pretty much recycled story lines. It got boring and lost its smarts.


It should have had a bullet put into it nearly 10 years ago.

Joel Cohen was (is?) a writer on the Simpsons and he's from Calgary, went to Wisewood. He was a guest speaker at a conference I was attending and I got a chance to chat with him. Nice enough guy, entertaining speaker but there have been a few references to Calgary in the show over the years so I'm pretty sure he's the reason why. This wasn't one of his more original jokes for sure.
