Icon39 Arizona re-signs Conor Garland (2 years, $775k AAV)

Could be a comparable for Jankowski or Bennett. Garland's been so good for Arizona.

Must feel like Christmas in the Garland household to get the big payday.

Great value contract. I've always thought Garland had nhl level talent- much like debrincat, you dont put up that level of domination in junior from such a young age without at least having some translatable skills.

Should have gotten an extra $200k just for his puck off the head goal against the Oilers.

are you talking sam bennett? if so can you expand on your thought about the players being comparable, because i had a quick look and garland has had one season in the NHL (36g) compared to bennett (302g).

they were both born in 1996 though

He also has one more goal this year in almost half as many games

I love Bennett but he better come cheap this summer

That’s all?! Seems like a real good player... would have thought 1.5-1.75 for sure?!

Interesting timing, but if you're going to sign for practically the league minimum I guess there's no point in waiting...

Seems like a low AAV.

I am guessing Garland is gambling that he has a lot more in him and went for the low dollar amount in exchange for a relatively short term. Good on him.

I imagine that it is a one-way deal where he would make the same salary even if they send him back to the AHL.

He must have seen a good deal on Trucks in February and needed the guarantee to qualify for credit or something.
