Whatever happened to Pearson? He and Toffoli were supposed to represent the changing of the guard in LA. Now neither of them seem to have panned out.

Karma for their Richards fiasco.

Apparently Gudbranson knows he was no good... asked about how he feels about his time in Vancouver:

Both guys are signed until 2021, Pearson for 3.75 AAV and Gudbranson for 4.0. Pearson is 26, Gudbranson is 27. Pearson has 15 points this season, so pretty terrible for that money, but considering how bad Gudbranson is, this seems like a decent gamble to hopefully get a 20/20 middle six guy for someone who shouldn't be in the NHL.

Not Arguably. Statistically. Eye-test. Advanced Stats. The guy so absolutely ####ing awful.

He had brief periods of being adequate this year. But we had two AHL call ups in the past few weeks, both were noticeably better than Gudbranson.

Gudbranson's idea of a good break-out pass is an icing.

Hamonic says he's pretty good at fighting.

Gudbranson has been almost unimaginably bad this season. Here's how the team has performed with him on the ice at 5-on5:

-28 goal differential; 43.5% Corsi F/A; 38.6% Scoring chances F/A

And when he's on the bench:

+12 goal differential; 50.9% Corsi F/A; 49.8% Scoring chances F/A

That's the only highlight for him on the season. It came right at the start and has been an avalanche of bad since then.

Pearson is hot garbage too. Healthy scratch and playing 6 minutes a night lately.

Also makes nearly as much as Gudbransen, for the same amount of years.

But still, addition by subtractions getting rid of the worse Dman in the league.

I guess Pearson was going to wear #14 (last worn by Burrows), but there was quite the backlash from Canucks fans and media and he has decided to wear #70.

I can already imagine the statue they will put up for Burrows outside Rogers Place.

It will feature him biting a glove while pulling on hair all while rolling on the floor.

It will be an extraordinary statue. A City landmark.

They do already have a monument dedicated to whining to the refs outside their arena after all.

No. He wore 14 in Pittsburgh and that's what was in the league database. When he was transferred to the Vancouver roster the number went with him. Never asked for 14. No controversy.
