Not good for him as he suffered that one with the Als where he got crushed at the goal line. Not sure if the way he plays is conducive to a long career and that's not counting the fact he's not been very good.
I started watching it, and enjoyed the first couple of games, but then the football got to be not as good. That's a big thing to me, I remember the first XFL and the coaching and execution was really bad.
Its a shame in a way that it didn't work out, there are lots of football players out of college that can't find a team, and you never know, 2 or 3 years of good development can make a difference.
It sounds like at the end of the day the Canes owner is going to lose about $70 million.
I don't know now what's going to happen to the XFL, on one hand this is good for them because no competition. But on the other hand, there's not much appetite in the States for non college non NFL ball.

$70 million!!! and he couldn't pay his RFAs....
The AAF didn't have competition either. The XFL will be toast when the 2nd week ratings come out. And doesn't the XFL have cities that already have an NFL team?

Be interesting to see if Vince wants to try and poach any elite college players. Because for any minor league to be successful, it will probably need to get a few guys who have NFL futures and not guys who are NFL rejects.

He should. It worked well for the CFL and Rocket Ismail.
hmm i guess it didn't work for the USFL.

I don't like the long range forecast for any of these US football leagues but I honestly thought this league would last a couple of seasons because of the former NFL names involved like Bill Polian. I kind of feel for the players that thought they had a chance at a career that are twisting in the wind.

The USFL worked fine as a spring league. It died when it moved to a fall league at the urging of Donald Trump, believe it or not. He figured that going head to head with the NFL would result in a merger that he could cash out big on.
As CFL fan, I can't lie that part of me is happy a league that potentially lowered the CFL talent pool by luring away players has dissolved. But I'm feeling really bad for the players involved.
AAF organizers definitely deserve the flak they are getting, as the league looks like a huge joke right now. But I'm finding some of the blissful outright mockery of everyone involved in AAF on social media and sports media (like Jay & Dan) to be a bit callous. What a brutal, financially scary/depressing situation for the players involved. Sad stuff for them, can't imagine how they are feeling right now.
And the NFL has a developmental league - the NCAA.
Seems like they formed this league assuming that the NFL would jump all over it. Oops.
Also, the average attendance league wide is claimed to be about 15,000 per game. Which, for a developmental league, is plenty. If they can't make that work, then the business model simply sucks.
Yea I call BS on that. I went to the Arizona San Diego game and there was nowhere even close to 1/3 that number
