If she becomes a conduit for deus ex machinas, then she's a Wesley.

Tilly is infinitely better than Wesley Crusher. No contest.

Wesley Crusher went on a ski trip to Calgary.
Wesley > Tilly

The New Eden episode was great. They're feeling a lot likethe stand-alone episodes of TNG, but with an interesting arch.

Yup in typical Wesley fashion he'd rather play video games then make moves on her.

I thought those two were the only ones not to get addicted to the disks-in-funnels orgasmatron game? I dunno, based on the crew's reactions while playing, I might have picked that thing over even Ensign Judd.

I was joking, but Wesley was lame. Not quite as lame as Barkley and worse yet Geordi doing the creepy stalker with rapey vibes with that holodeck scientist.
That whole thing with Geordi was creepy. Honestly go back and watch those episodes.

I guess that there were some really strange tweets from Anson Mount where he talks about being an unemployed actor who would work for food and how every one enjoyed working with Green.

I mean... it seemed pretty likely from the start that Pike was going to be a one-off for this season.

Do you buy her as the product of an elite scientific-military academy where only the best of the best graduate?

That's the thing, in TNG and the movies they really portrayed the academy as tough and stressful.
You know, the whole best of the best, you have to be ready for an even tougher job when you graduate.
Tilly with her annoying mannerisms and her need to have her own cabin on a starship just strikes me as someone that would more likely end up working as a lab assistant or researcher as far away from the front lines as possible.
I still remember in that stupid short when she stuck her finger in the goo on the floor and tasted it to test it.
Oh its blood . . . what?

You know, last week they had a neat little episode that they kept really simple and it was easy to follow.
Then they jump right into a mess of an episode with a bunch of things happening at the same time.
The Klingon problem still remains, they're impossible to understand with the stupid fake native american accent and the bulky makeup that makes them look like actors wearing heavy fake Shoppers Drug Mart masks.
I did love seeing the D-7 cruiser, and as god is my witness Michelle Yeoh was the best actor in the episode, and I found myself intrigued by a Section 31.
But the scene with the fake heads was unintentionally hilarious and badly done.
Also Pike had 30 seconds of screen time and it became the Michael is so brilliant that she solves everything.
