Pork is always a bad thing to gamble with. See Chris Rock's comedy routine for more explanation.

I am stunned that none of you recommended killing the bacteria with fire

All modern and semi-modern slow cookers get more than hot enough, either by law or by fear of lawsuit (I can't remember which) - your grandparent's slow cooker is actually a much better tool for slow cooking than the current crop of slow cookers, albeit at the expense of requiring more careful checking of final temperatures.

some bacteria that cause food poison produce a toxin which is heat stable, so you can kill all the bacteria, but the toxin that makes you sick may still be there.
in fact, killing the bacteria may break open the bacteria cells releasing even more toxin into your food
my recommendation: Eat the pork chops

This is Maritime Q~Scout's parents.
Unfortunately MQS ate some porkchops that apparently were not properly cooked. After three days in the hospital, and a turn that landed him in the ICU, his short struggle is now over. He passed away this morning.
That or I threw out the porkchops.

Thoughts and prayers. That's a tough way for a pork chop to go.
Oh ya, sorry to hear about MQS as well.

I wouldn't worry about it....eating pork will clog your arteries and kill you anyways!

Sushi turns really quick. Well any fish really, but something about sushi... it really has to be fresh to taste good.
