I thought Another Way to Die by Jack White an Alicia Keys is one of if not the best bond theme, despite the movie not bein all that great that song rocks. You Know My Name is good too
^It's okay but it's not really a Bond theme. There's not much Bond-ish about it. It's just a track that was played in a Bond movie. The reason it sounds good to us is that it's in line with current musical tastes. In 25 years (i.e. us looking back on some of the 80's and 70's tunes) people will be going "wtf was that?"
I've always thought Daniel Craig looks more like the evil Russian henchman that Bond usually fights. He doesn't look very British. I do enjoy the new look of the movies though, a lot more grit and depth. Too bad Clive Owen didn't make the cut. I always thought he'd make a pretty good Bond.
Brosnan is the better looking Bond but was in horrible movies. The Craig films would be great with Pierce in the role.
Not to take anything away from Craig, I think he's great as well, but I think Pierce could have done a great job in these films as well.
What?!
Brosnan is 300% cheese. There's no way he could play a gritty, cold heatless Bond like Craig.
The thought of Brosnan is Casino Royale makes me want to crash an Aston Martin

You have that impression because that's what you saw in his bad movies.
Brosnan looks like a more traditional Bond, and has acting chops. He absolutely could do a Craig-like Bond film.

I don't know, Bronsan doesn't seem like the type that could to a very tortured character very well. With Craig it seems like every person that he kills takes a toll on him, every death has a cost. Bronsnan comes off as far too smarmy for that type of role.
Brosnan plays a good superspy vs Craig plays a good assassin.

Early reviews say it is extremely good and up to the quality of Casino Royale. This has me excited as the trailer looks very good.
Can't wait until next week.
It's going to be hard to top Casino Royale though. Best bond song written, some of the best lines written (That last hand, nearly killed me), some of the best scenes (Bond torture scene; "no no, to the right to the right! YES YES!!!".
Sucks that is was followed up by QoS which is the definition of mediocrity. Some of the action is quite bad and the villain is awful, but it had Olga Kurylenko and some ok bits.
After the last few stinkers I got my hopes up for I am expecting crap, if it's great then I'll be pleasantly surprised but I have seen a lot of movies with high ratings that I regret watching. Mission Impossible 4 comes immediately to mind.
If anyone watches Top Gear, they released a new episode on the past 50 years of Bond cars.
In the last 8 minutes of the show they have a "making of" from the opening chase sequence in Skyfall (they talk to Craig and the Stig). It looks pretty sweet.

The problem with Brosnan's look was that between GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies he seems to have aged about 10 years. By the time Die Another Day rolls around he looks almost as ridicules as Roger Moore did at the end.

I think you should give the song a listen again. The opening riff I'm pretty sure is right out of the Bond score. And pretty much every lyric refers to Bond, a woman, or a villain. If you don't like the song that's fine, but I actually think its a throwback to the old themes much more than the recent Brosnan ones.

I actually like the song as a song it just doesn't give me a "bond" vibe. Like I say I think Cornell re-appropriated the Bond-theme atmosphere but updated it, which was perfect timing given the refreshed, deeper and more human (less Superspy) Bond image that the Craig era brings. I don't think White / Keys do that, they just recorded a good song. Maybe it has Bond-related elements but in listening to every theme back to back yesterday it stuck out as not really fitting in with the rest. Not as badly as Die Another Day, but noticeably.
As for the Brosnan ones, it went,
1. Goldeneye - in there for the best Bond theme
2. Tomorrow Never Dies - I'm particularly partial to this one. It doesn't stray from the standard Bond theme tropes or do anything particularly new and exciting, but Sheryl Crow's voice is pretty awesome.
3. The World is Not Enough - A lot of people think this is one of the best. I'm not quite there, but it is a good theme and has sort of a 70's-Bond atmosphere.
4. Die Another Day - Madonna's absolute trash, probably the worst theme ever.
So for me, 3 good ones, one of which was absolutely fantastic, and one complete and utter abortion. Honestly, I'm not sure any other Bond run had a more solid track record. Which should be true given the emphasis that has been put on these themes particularly since the Brosnan era.

any "best Bond" argument that doesn't include Sean Connery is immediately flawed.
the theme from On Her Majesty's Secret Service deserves more respect. And frankly, OHMSS is the most underrated movie in the series. George Lazenby gets a bit of a bad rap.
