Hoping the team plays a less shameful and embarrassing game tonight.

Massive game, biggest of the season. Either the team finds a way to alleviate the pressure and show the city they mean business. Or the team finds a way to be up against the ropes and everyone will lose faith in them.

Such a fine line this sport is sometimes. But it's why the game is played.

Really hoping the Flames stop caring about what McK does every shift and just get back to playing like we know they can, but haven't seen yet. I want to see the Flames attack in waves and stop catering to how the Avs play, and dictate the pace themselves.

At what time have lineups generally been released in the first three games? So so curious to see if Peters has the cahones to shake things up. (Looking at you Brodie)

I've always thought game four of the series is usually the most pivotal. The record will either be 3-0 or 2-1 going into it, so a team is either getting swept versus saving themselves, or tying the series versus giving the other team a stranglehold. We saw two teams crumble under the pressure. Calgary needs to step up.

I don't think it's a personnel issue. It's a focus, drive and determination issue. I think the D needs to step up and force the issue more, and take away that neutral zone. Mcakinnon is winding up and coming with speed. He can't do that as much if he gets up ice pressure.

The top line just needs to play with confidence and get the play lower into the offensive zone, not up near the blue line so much. Johnny's passes to the middle are way more effective from the side of the circle as opposed to where he is currently hooking. It makes the goalie play to the corner as opposed to being more in the middle of the net. And he needs to circle the net some, just to keep the options open.

Backlund needs to rethink his coverage of Mackinnon and perhaps just shadow him. Tkachuk needs to be himself. The fourth line needs to outplay the opponent and dig constantly.

Flames lose this one and they are done. I am hoping for a 4 point night from Gaudreau.

History has shown that this one is the "must win" game...going down 3-1 would, statistically, be a killing blow.

The Flames will win tonight for 3 reasons:

1. I'm not going to the game (1-5 this season)

2. I'm wearing my Iginla jersey to the office (1-0, wore for the 1st playoff game), and

3. Excellent record of responding after a blowout. I think the last game was what was needed to finally bring the Flames up to a playoff level of compete.

Definitely a "must win", I think whoever takes this game takes the series eventually.

Pumped for this game. Confident that they will be much much better.

Going to start drinking early. For luck. And to calm the shakes.

I realized after Game #3 was over that I had neglected to listen to Navras on Monday. It’s no wonder they lost, and it won’t happen again.

GFG.

The good news is we'll know by the end of the night how bad the Flames want to win this series. They've talked a good game the last few days, lets see it reflect on the ice tonight boys.

Our big guys need to step up, I hope we have a few roster changes come either pre-game skate or game time:

Dube or Czarnik in for Jankowski
Valamaki in for Brodie or Fantenburg

True test is tonight, a win and I think we take the series. A loss and I don't see us winning 3 in a row sadly

Positive vibes positive vibes positive vibes.

Obviously this team has the ability to dominate the Av’s. Listening to all their comments reassured me that they know what they did poorly, but it worries me that they don’t know how to fix it. I’ve got a lot of trepidation going into tonight, but hopefully they don’t! If they come out and play like they can it’s a whole new series, we have to find a way to steal the momentum back. I’ve always thought that the playoffs are all about whichever team can make the right adjustments. Fingers crossed it’s us!

3-2 Flames OT McK off the scoreboard. Gaudreau with 2 points.

Edit: I also want to add all the BS about offensive scoring players not ‘trying hard enough’ is... BS. Offensive players aren’t the most effective when they are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I remember this sentiment about Iginla all the time, “he doesn’t care”, when he’s not putting the puck in the net. We need 13 and 23 to play smarter IMO and not try to do everything themselves, that’s when they become ineffective.

Like others have said, this game will really show what this years version of the Flames are all about. It's there for the taking, now ####ing take it. Pivotal game that will likely make or break the series. Despite the great season that showed an amazingly consistent group throughout the year, we have not seen anywhere close to that these playoffs. Hard game to predict.

5-3 Flames. And it'll be 2-0 Colorado heading into the 3rd.
