What is with the Capitals? They sure aren't making it easy on themselves to clinch a playoff spot, although they have a 10 point lead on the 9th place BJs. Maybe it's because Holtby is pulling a Tim Thomas by not wanting to visit the White House. The Caps only had 22 shots on goal. The Wild get the job done on the road as Kunin scored the GWG with 7.5 minutes left in reg time. Minnesota reclaims 8th place and are just 3 points back of the Stars for 7th place.

Okay, take a shower now since the Ducks beat the Sharks. Too little too late for the Ducks as they've won their 7th game in the past 11. Rakell and Silfverberg each had 3 points. Yes, the Sharks are slumping a bit which is a good thing as they realize they must get tuned up to play the Knights in the 1st round.

But I've been a Flames fan for too long to believe that.

Hopefully we don't get "Markstrom'ed" again in the nucklehead game. If the Flames handle their business like they have most of the year so far, the Sharks game could be a chance to clinch.
Every single year down the stretch, people assume the playoff teams will win all the games against the bottom feeders, and every single year it doesn't happen. I just can't understand why people keep making the same faulty assumption.

The Sharks just got 1 out of 4 possible points in LA and ANA. These games are not sure wins. As I said in the prior post, the Flames struggle with every single one of the teams we have left on the schedule.

The good news, is that if the Flames go 4-4-0 (which is all we can expect IMO), the Sharks will need to go 6-0-1 to pass us (assuming no SO wins for the Flames)

So with Colorado and Chicago either or getting points today and Arizona getting a point in OT. Does that make it almost a guarantee the Coilers are out?
