This would seem very counter intuitive from everything I have been taught about coaching.
Its like saying LA Lakers need to get better at 3 point shooting percentage so lets practice by shooting closer to the basket. This develops muscle memory that is counter intuitive to the final goal which would make it extremely uncommon in sports training and goes against the current LTAD which focuses on patterns that do not deviate from training to competiting. Now you might be totally right so I want to be clear i am not arguing; in 35 years of playing and 15 years of coaching and teaching in hockey schools I have never seen this method used.
DISCLAIMER ......coaching is constantly developing and things change every year so its not unheard of for a new method to be utilized and I can guarantee that Peters knows a whole hell of a lot more about coaching than I do.
