If Zuccarello and Nyquist get a 2nd/3rd, Simmonds should either be lower than that price or on par with that.
I would give Calgary's 2019 3rd and 2020 2nd round picks for Simmonds. That price would be a good price and doesn't sell the farm at all.

Even that seems high considering Zuccarello and Nyquist. 3rd and a 4th, I'd do. Or no picks at all, Simmonds for Foo

Don't think the Flyers would give up Simmonds without a top 62 pick somewhere.
Maybe the 2019 pick can be the Isles' 4th round pick, and goes up to the third rounder if the Flames get past the first round.

Could always use a mean SOB to stand in front of the net on the PP in the playoffs. Simmonds is good for those greasy goals.

Haven't seen Simmonds this year. How's his foot speed?

Average...he has never been a speedster but he knows where to be on the ice and certainly his give-a-crap meter is off the charts.

Nowhere near as bad as some people seem to think. He gets around, and once he gets going he's got decent speed. His first few strides aren't very good though.

I always loved Simmonds. He's not the player he once was, but he's absolutely useful.
I would imagine this is plan B should Stone not work out.

LeBrun says Fletcher is telling teams that he is willing to keep Simmonds past the deadline.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Bennett - Jankowski - Simmonds
Mangiapane - Ryan - Hathaway
with Czarnik as extra forward. Would love that tbh, Simmonds could also play up and down the lineup. When Neal returns you can bump down Frolik and have a lot of options for line combos.
like I said, for a 3rd and a 2nd next year I'd be game. Maybe throw in a depth prospect if it seals the deal. Fletcher will absolutely not get a 1st plus, so he'll either have to come down on the asking price or risk losing hom for nothing.

I hope the Flames are still in on Simmonds if the price comes down.

LOL, This is hilarious! So, if you can go at the speed of light, you'd be pretty slow since you'd be standing still when looking at another light source! Relativity make so much logical sense!
