I am very impressed that the Flames somehow got blown out by the Sens in two out of three games.

This is the worst hockey I have ever seen this team play.

Effectively leaving the top line on the bench for roughly six minutes ensuring that they were cold before they went out again. Penalty taken all momentum lost and you can thank the coach for it.

Ward is an amateur
The coach is merely a symptom despite his inadequacy. These things have all been happening for years under this core. The lack of action and change has exasperated the situation to what we are seeing now. Treliving has no ability to react or pivot and that is a death sentance for a team with playoff aspirations every year. Any competent GM would have made changes in the off-season before wasting another year hoping for a different result. Did anyone really think things would be improved this year? Maybe not this bad but the room for error was immense by not making significant changes to such a stagnant core.

What is this team even supposed to be anyway? The list of everything they’re not far outweighs what they are? That initself oozes failure from the gm.

It takes quite a level to suck at to get not just beat, but beat decisively by the Sens twice..

This is not just the players, the entire management group need to be held accountable.

Yet they took 3 of 4 points in Toronto.

Scorp takes a lot of crap on this site sometimes but the guy has actually really come along in his hockey knowledge and has some decent thoughts.

He’s like CPs own little project lol

GG teams would lose a lot of games, but not 5-1 and 6-1 in quick succession to the worst statistical team in the league.

Even those teams had some pushback in them, even though they often came up short.

Also Monahan and Gaudreau were a lot better together then.

jfc... I'm romanticizing the GG Flames.

Never thought I'd see the day.

Yeah, they were much better in those games, and that is obvious.

I give all the credit to Scorp, not the mayhem he has to sift through here.

Rittich was much better in those games. I don't think the Flames overall played well, and felt that they got dominated for the most part.

And Francis wouldn’t take it.

Knowing your outlook is worse than just picking the 11th best player on each roster must suck
That would be some kind of blockbuster trade. Flames entire roster to Seattle for all of their expansion picks. Problem is I’m told Lucic won’t waive and that’ll kill the deal.

While we’re at it Pierre McGuire as GM and Loubo for HC.

Rittich was tremendous but the team was a little bit better too, just a little bit.

CP should be the GM and we will hold a poll for every decision

Good job Scorp.

Funny enough I don’t listen to OT but was in the car again for about 10 min which included your call

Well done

Solely because of Rittich.

Outside of BSD in those 2 games, the Flames were dominated both games.

And this is the big thing.

The roster is flawed but this coaching staff has them playing way below even that potential. I still think the overreaction to the Colorado loss is what set this franchise back.

Look how Tampa responded to their loss, and look how the Flames responded. Tampa stayed calm, knew they were on the right track and made small tweaks, the Flames panicked and tried to change identities to play heavier hockey and it just hasn’t worked.

I still don’t get how we lost to a Colorado team that was faster, more skilled, and more talented than us, and the takeaway was “We need to be bigger and play with more grit”.
