The Flames are playing like a team that is trying to get their coach fired.

No, what we need is actual top end talent.
This team needs to stop building around mid-tier talent, whether it be hard working or not.
Elite, foundational talent is needed. We can blame one thing or another, year after year, but the reality is this team doesn’t employ talented enough players, nor talented enough coaches.

Get in or win a round is irrelevant (and not likely anyway) you still make the change asap

So be it.
At least if they're an upgrade they can start to implement their system and strategies with this current crop that aren't traded for the remainder of the lost season and get them prepared to be in a better place next season.
Use the string of meaningless games (if it goes that way) to accomplish something.

Then why did they advocate for him in the off season?

at the second Overtime caller suggesting Virtanen and Brandon Sutter as the solutions for this team.
And now this last caller is complaining about not having Robinson and Keegan ####ing Kanzig in the lineup. Mentioned him and Chara in the same sentence.

This team does that a lot, but we do need to get the coaching hire right and build the team properly.

Depth is an issue and they’ve missed Ryan more than we think.
Gaudreau, Lindholm, Tkachuk, Monahan, Mangiapane, Backlund, Dube are all okay pieces IMO.
Ryan, Lucic, Bennett, are all fine in a bottom 6 role.
Problem is that leaves us 2 NHL forwards short and lacking depth especially on RW.
One of Leivo/Simon can fill the 4th line RW spot just fine IMO. But the team is really missing a top 9, and preferably top 6 RW.
Honestly Tanev has been fine but what would you rather have on this roster:
Tanev + Leivo= $5.4M
Or
Toffoli + Hamonic= $5.5M
I don’t like Hamonic but I’m taking Toffoli +Hamonic over Tanev+Leivo every day of the week. Investing the cap space on our defense instead of forward this offseason was a mistake IMO. It was clear this team needed another top 9 forward going back to last season.

That's arguable. But even if accepted on face value they also have one of the top two goalies and one of the best d cores.
Judging this team based on how they play under Ward is a bad idea. Get a real coach, evaluate the team and make changes then.

Been thinking for a few years now that this team has some great players, but they just aren't meant to play together.

That's a problem when its put on the players to advocate for a specific coach. Look how that's turned out because it is not really their job. I get empowering the players to be involved in the process but sometimes that's not a good way to lead a group that needs direction.

I did this to my son. He was so excited as a young fellow when they won a round in 2015. He’ll be in his 40s before they win another. Treliving era... bargain bin coaches. It’s all to much. He’s 12 and called it when they hired Ward after the debacle last year in the playoffs. “What a dud” is what he said. And Tre couldn’t see it.

Can't wait for Treliving to can Ward, say this team needs someone behind the bench with HC experience, and bring in GG again since he has HC experience lol.

The worst stretch in recent memory. Same team was 2nd in NHL recently, same core made a highly entertaining Cinderella run a few years earlier. Both coaches were ultimately flawed but for a while they made a huge difference. Coaches matter.
