On a lighter note, I took a look at the Sharks’ Pride jersey and I actually almost changed my entire opinion and started agreeing with Reimer. Just once it’d be nice for a player to refuse to wear a Pride jersey not because they want to remind gay kids that they aren’t even worth wearing a one-off shirt for, but because that shirt is ugly and the entire LGBTQ community deserves better.
A clip art shark with “love” written on hockey sticks in cursive? Ugh.

The pride movement, while specifically acknowledging LGBTQ+ struggles and inclusion, also has a theme of being an anti-bullying campaign in general. It's a good cause and supporting it doesn't infringe on anyone's religion.

What’s actually illiberal is taking away the rights of queer people. There is a SCOTUS Justice who basically begged for people to challenge Obergefell so that they can strike it down. We can see from how striking down Roe v. Wade how quickly rights will be stripped away. Imagine having your marriage taken away from you. State after state we are seeing illiberal attacks on the rights of queer people. Illiberalism is taking over the US and it isn’t from “woke” people…it’s people like Reimer.
But Reimer can be a snowflake who’s triggered by wearing a jersey for a few minutes…boo ####ing hoo.
