I've been hard on Monahan but I think that last game was probably his best this season. Was noticeable in a great way, especially some of his physical play along the boards.

I agree, Monahan has been one of the best forwards as of late. He’s making a lot of us, including me, eat crow. Here’s to hoping he continues to play like this with a larger sample size.

We need better secondary scoring…we have Backlund. we need better goaltending, we have Markstrom’s inconsistencies. We need better penalty kill….we gave up two last game.

Let’s go Flames !

Yeah I still can't believe they bowed out to the floundering Oilers given the circumstances and how they played defensively against the Panthers.

They had an opportunity to stomp on the hand grasping the cliff's edge and they helped them up instead.

Just... completely unacceptable.

Boys need to answer for that in a huge way tonight and this week or fans will start to tune out on what began as a rather promising season under Darryl.

Show it was a one off and get back to playing a fast, suffocating game and rack up those home points. They barely travel for over a month now, so use the advantage of home turf and make it count!

Yes Monahan is really interesting to watch right now. Who will be his linemates and what will he do with them.

Gah, seeing 23 yr old Jordan Kyrou (of course, off the 2nd rnder Flames traded them for a season of Brian Eliott) over a pt per gm continues to sting...not saying we would have picked him there if pick kept, but there some other diamonds beyond the 35th pick used to pick Kyrou
- Debrincat 39th
- Samuel Girard 47th
- Carter Hart 48th
- Filip Hronek 53rd

The decline of Monahan when he should be in his prime has been depressing and a huge hit for the Flames. We've done well enough without him playing and performing as he should be at this time. Can you imagine if he were to build confidence and get his game back?

I said it in another thread but Monahan getting his game back (or even half back) would be a great deadline add!

If there's one player who can resurrect his own game I think #23 Is the guy....and I'm damn excited to see it.
Warrior hardly describes how this guy can produce points while being as banged up as he's been in the past.
I hope recency bias DOESN'T kill his career because that'd be a damn shame.

I have never heard Sean bitch, moan, complain or make dumb excuses....not even once and yet he's done really well for this Team and I wish guys would just lay off and watch him get back to what he was.
Another strong game for #23 and I think we see more W's coming down the pipe.

As for the rest of the team there's guys that have to start producing because being a passenger on this team gets us nowhere.

For the people who questioned Darryls putting the 4th line out with less than 5 minutes left in the last game remember what Darryl said after....we will play all lines win or lose.!

I hope nothing changes Darryls mind as he's right.
Time to start getting some points out of these games ....preferably points without overtime and shootouts . Just win baby. Just win.

They'll win the games they should lose
They'll lose the games they should win, or that we reeeally really want them to win.

Tonight appears to fall into the former, but we'll see.

They're going to win tonight. This team has been playing too well over the last few to keep losing. Hopefully Markstrom has a strong game so he gets to feel good about himself.

and there are about 50 bad picks that are far more likely
