Talbot was horri-bad tonight. Cost the Flames a point. Flames were the better team for the first two periods and deserved to be up by more than 1, but Talbot was determined not to stop any puck that didn’t hit him squarely in the chest, and even then he muffed half of them back into the slot.

Flames were both unlucky not to get two points (thanks Talbot) and very lucky to get one point (thanks posts and offside call).

Saving Rittich for the Oil. Plus it’s sort of not standard coaching to pull a goalie when tied or close like that. Fall behind early or getting blown out is standard pull. Pulling because of body language is Keenan and not too many other coaches.

That said, I’d have thrown Rittich in the SO, not only because of Talbot but because Rittich is just really good on them.

Absolutely horrendous game by Talbot, couldn't stop a beach ball tonight if it was thrown at him. Catastrophic meltdown!

What the f*** is wrong with these coaches? No Monahan on the first line overtime powerplay!!!! Then they put f***ing Lucic out on the second powerplay line. Every f***ing game # 88 has multiple chances all thru the f***ing game but no they keep putting f***ing Lucic out there on the f***ing powerplay!!! F***ing wake up Ward!

Two things that cost them that game IMO

1) Talbot - just a bad night. It happens, he hadn’t played in 17 days so he’s gets a bit of a break but he needs to make sure he’s ready next game. Not like Binnington was great either.

2) OT PP Coaching - How does Monahan not start on that PP? His shot was causing Binnington issues all night, and you don’t put him out on PP1 but then you put Brodie, Andersson, Lucic, Ryan out there before him on PP2. Crazyness.

Disagree. At least Gio can shoot and pass. Brodie on the other hand is no threat at all with his slap shot.
