100%. The recap of this game should be tweeted at Chris Woodward.

Unreal! I turned the TV off and went to the driving range, and I come home to a W! Looks like I missed a great game.

5 game win streak, equivalent to 13.5 game streak in a full season.

All without Bo too.

Credit to the guys for stepping up.

How did Merryweather look? Good fastball? How was the offspeed stuff?

Merryweather was great. Throwing heat at 96 to 98, then bending it in the mid 80s.

Struck out his first batter and was very effective

Great to hear. It'll be interesting to see if they want to stretch him out or if they will just use him as a high leverage reliever going forward. The Jays really are starting to load up on relievers with some serious swing and miss stuff with some of these "failed" starters.

Giles
Romano
Borucki
Merryweather
Cole

Even Yamaguchi is getting on track after a rough start, he has 12 Ks in 8.2 IP now.

Crazy the Cards have only played 13 games and some teams have played 26.

It’s especially bonkers when you consider they’ll need to play 12 double headers to get to 60 games. So that’s 24 7 inning ballgames. Almost half their season will be shortened games and they’ll miss out on 48 innings of baseball when all is said and done.

48 innings is close to 10% of the entire season.

Oops missed it earlier and just saw that Alford was DFA'ed

Too bad, so much speed and raw power, but couldn't get an opportunity here, and really didn't earn it either.

With Grichuk, Teo and Gurriel looking strong now, there was no way Alford was going to get an opportunity any time soon either. Even Fisher looked better than AA so far this season.

Good luck to him if he's claimed, unless it's with an AL east team. Watch the Yankess go all Gio Urshela on him lol. Damn that would suck.

I wouldn't be surprised if something like this happens. Sometimes you just need a change of scenery and different coaches unlock that last bit of potential to turn you into an everyday big leaguer.

Sweeping the double header was huge, and has put the Jays in the playoffs conversation.

Now they have an even bigger series, as they face their nemesis. Going 1-2 wouldn't be damaging, but being swept definitely would.

Finding a way to take 2 out of 3 could launch them into the next tier of their development.

They are 2-4 against the Rays this season, and it's soooo frustrating because there is no way they should be worse than 3-3 against them and you can make a case that they should be 4-2 or 5-1.

3 game series in the trop and the Rays are hot. I have very little hope of a good outcome right now haha.

Bad news for you guys but this is a 4 game wraparound series at the Trop. So pretty much worse case scenario right now. If they could miraculously split 2-2 and then be done with that team then things will be looking pretty peachy. Who knows, maybe they’re due at the Trop and go 3-1?... then again I’ve been saying that for a decade

Montoyo has to be trolling Jays fans or something...

He has Jansen batting 3rd and Biggio batting 8th today.

On tape delay, just watching the 2nd...

First of all, several guys pounding the ball - nice to see the bats alive.

But that dive/slide by Gurriel - insane!

What? They called him out? Brutal.

Please hold on and win. Please hold on and win. Please hold on and win.
