Ah yes, he turns 20 this year, I guess that means he will be in the AHL next year. I forgot he got passed over in the draft the year before.

Anybody wanna give predictions as to what the Abbotsford lineup looks like next year? I'm going to take a stab at it, but it's very uneducated and likely wrong.

Colin Stuart - Jason Jaffray - Kris Chucko
David Van der Gulik - Mitch Wahl - Greg Nemisz
Lance Bouma - John Armstrong - Riley Armstrong
Cam Cunning - Ryley Grantham - Gaelan Patterson
extras: J.D. Watt, Aaron Marvin

John Negrin - Keith Seabrook
Brett Palin - T.J. Brodie
Gord Baldwin - Josh Meyers
extra: Brad Cole

Leland Irving
Matt Keetley

* Garth Murray, Carson Germyn, Staffan Kronwall, Pete Vandermeer all not back with the team next year. Mikael Backlund, Brett Sutter, Matt Pelech all make the Flames next year. Aaron Marvin gets signed and plays in Abbotsford.

Please, butcher this immensely if need be.

Overall, not bad. Except for one thing, from what I've seen in Abbotsford, Brett Sutter probably won't make it to the Flames lineup.

2 reasons:

a) Just doesn't have a clear strength in his game yet. Definitely an energy guy, but other than that doesn't fit well.

b) The Flames don't have a role for him.

Would think when Conroy retires (end of the season is my guess), there is a role for a 4th line Center (next season).... Sutter would be perfect for that role in my opinion.

The farm is incredibly screwed up right now. The decent prospects are being put into situations to fail. The team is incredibly horrible and Playfair is a terrible
coach.

Brett Sutter at one point was projected as a third line center in my opinion, but Playfai hardly plays him on the pk and barely has him at center.

It's a real cluster and I've mostly stopped watching because the team looks as bad and is as fustrating as the parent club was during the losing streak.

Sutter needs to be more hands on down there.

Sutter needs to stay in Alberta and leave the Heat alone... I've seen nothing from him over the last couple of years that tells me he knows how to build a hockey team.... Make mistake, back pedal.... Make mistake, back pedal...

I disagree, who knew that getting big names into town wouldn't result in a hell of a season?

He worked his ass off trying to get big names into town, but it didn't work out. So, yes, he is backpedalling now.

However, he should have a hand in Abbotsford because this team is struggling too. In fact, the only consistent players lately have been Sutter, Cunning, Stuart, Josh Meyers. That's it. All of the unlikely players. We need better prospects down there. But it will happen in due time because it is likely Germyn, Vandermeer, among others will be let go.

I assume you are aware that Duane Sutter is the GM of the Abbortsford Flames?

The AHL Flames are very...very young especially on defense. I would think this season has went very well.

Doesn't help that they traded Aulie away. Then a week later he was back in abbotsford playing for the marlies...

That is an amazing website. I'm still a bit confused as to how they get that number (although I am math ######ed), but cool site.
