Shopping for a new wallet...
Looking to update my wallet and looking for suggestions.
My ideal wallet is fairly thin. Don't need many compartments. Clean look. Appropriate in all settings (business and otherwise).
Took a look around, as I seem to remember some great recommendations for some great thin wallets a while ago.
Found this site. Looks like some good candidates

I will even open this up to wallet/life systems.
When travelling I assemble quite a few receipts. Do I have a travel wallet and then a normal one?

The Dash sucks balls. I had one and it's just so cheap.
I replaced it with a Machine Era wallet that I love.

Thanks for this thread, I've been using the same wallet for probably 10 years. These new slim design ones have me interested.

I've carried one of these for years. Yes, it's Coach, but it is quite well made. Minimalist, but it can be carried in the front pants pocket which I like. http://www.coach.com/online/handbags...00000000334801
I found it at the outlet in Mallzac for cheaper than list price.
For travel, I have a travel wallet that can take receipts etc and I carry in my jacket pocket. It's a big one with a passport spot and everything, probably overkill.

I've had mine for close to a year and it looks almost brand new, durability seems to be good. I like having the 2 separate pouches and that you can push all the cards up from the bottom for easy retrieval.
I'm interested in the Machine Era kermit, do you find cards slide up easily? Also, do you put any cards on the back side or how well does that work?

I'm also really hoping Coin ( https://onlycoin.com/) takes off and gets chip and pin so it's practical for use outside the US.

Seconded on the Bellroy recommendation. I've had mine for about a year and I'm still loving it.
Finally broke me of my "take a receipt for everything, keep it in my wallet until it's too big to carry" habit.

Those aren't even wallets. They are card sleeves. What do you put in there? An ID card, your credit card and squeeze in a bill or 2? Maybe some guys could get away with that but it wouldn't work for me. I'll stick to the regular or chunky wallet that holds more than 2 cards and a piece of paper.

I switched from a George Costanza wallet to an Alto Collective Wood wallet last year and I haven't looked back.
http://www.altocollective.com/collections/wallets
Similar to what Jaydorn said I used to carry a ridiculous amount of reciepts and cards that I never used. While it looks odd, the Alto wallet lets me carry the 10-15 cards I actually use on a regular basis and pins down cash easily. Plus it's a local Calgary company that makes solid products.

I use this one, but if you ever drop it, your stuff will be all over the place, as the release latch is sensitive.. I am not really using it for any RFID protection qualities. I just like the style, and that it's slim and won't cause my cards to warp over time.

Mont Blanc is pricey, but the quality is second to none.
I have tone similar to this, and it's last me quite a few years, and fits your thinness request. Second MB I've owned and the best wallets I've ever had.

Might aswell ask here. I have quite a few very expensive (expensive for me anways) that always get wrecked at the fold. THe leather or whatever covers the top exposed part of the fold cracks or breaks free.
What can i do to avoid this???
