So to continue this further you would need to state what you specifically believe so it could be debunked. This things should be looked at with deeper scrutiny is a meaningless statement that implies no belief or action.

So if this highly unlikely event doesn't happen tomorrow what will you sister do? Do you think she'll pick a different date?

This sounds very similar to the things my half sister says when she is off her meds for Schizophrenia. She tends to think there is some conspiracy against our family going back to our families Irish clan, and that biker gangs are out to get us.

In my experience, there isn't really a way to rationalize with her. The only advice I would have is, until you for sure know what's driving this, make sure she is safe.

This does not imply that their is an active global pedophile ring.
True. Anywhere they can get access to children they will target. There was just a youtube channel owner who was arrested for assaulting one of the girls. Sevenawsomekids which I know I have seen as my daughter used to watch some of their videos. Positions of authority and parents who are only interested in their kids career is a bad mix.

OP, have you considered indulging your sister on a limited basis? I'm suggesting things that are negligible and still relatively normal.

For instance, telling her you think the conspiracy part is bunk, but you're OK stock piling two weeks worth of supplies just in case. Or for the stock market stuff, just tell her you think it's silly, but you'll indulge her by just telling her of a stock or two you liquidated that you were planning to get rid of anyways?

I'm thinking that doing so at least doesn't completely alienate or isolate her from everyone else. Plus having two weeks supply on hand isn't crazy like two years and it's not a bad thing to have in the event of a winter storm or as an easy access for supplies if you like camping. Hopefully in the long run, she might see it as silly because your indulgence to her "opinions" are costing you real money.

ie:

"Sister, the world didn't end. Two weeks supply cost me XX which paid tax money to the government and dented my credit card bill... But oh well, better safe than sorry."

Theoretically, I'm thinking that by doing so sorta helps to ease her towards the idea that some of her requests are overreactions and keeps her from going too deep or entrenching herself deep in her opinions. Idea wise, it's kinda like acknowledging the potential risks of any other activity (ie: driving), but acknowledging a risk that is a long shot (ie: Keeping a safety kit in the trunk + USB jump starter for boosting batteries or charging a dead phone in an emergency) as opposed to constantly shrugging off concerns that someone has.

All good on this front, but several hours to go. Maybe we've been saved again. Recall the 2011 'Rapture' that came and went... and all they took was Randy 'Macho Man' Savage.

So far today:
I made money on a short term stock play.
I received exceptional help from an airline call centre.

The sister is right, it really is the end of days.

Edit: happy birthday Vlad!

Generally that the signs/omens/portents were "misinterpreted", and another date is then provided...
