Why did he even allow the play to continue to get to a corner? The whistle should have gone after the ball went out for throw-in. 12th man strikes again. As my interest in the NHL has waned, my hatred of MU has eclipsed that for the Oilers... Another 2-man team ironically.

there were 5 minutes of added time, and then there was a sub and a goal during those 5 minutes ... every single ref in the world will add a bit in those circumstances. 12th man my arse. United were extremely lucky today, but not because of the ref.

Is that a serious question?

Brighton scored with 30 seconds left of OT. From the restart to the corner was <30seconds.

So. No. The whistle shouldn't have gone after the ball went out for a throw in. As flukey as they were the corner was awarded within the correct time.

Honestly, how extra time is basically just made up and continues is ridiculous. They should be using the same system used in rugby and then there are no disagreements to be had.

Anyway, I’d love to make fun of Penchester United, but I see that they’ve got an appointment with Dr. Tottenham next weekend. In between there we have three games to play, so I just can’t take that risk.

Palace's turn to get hosed by the var... joke penalty given against on a floating header nowhere near a scoring opportunity and then Calvert-lewin does the exact same thing on a shot headed to the corner and there's not even a monitor check

The Premier League are reviewing the VAR footage of their match against Palace to see if they can retrospectively award another couple of penalties.

VAR screws up again.

Chelsea equalizer stands despite handball.

Another mystery handball call, this time Chelsea handles in the box before they score, but this one was apparently not a handball for some reason.

At this point for me, it's less about the rule itself and more about the lack of consistency in calling it. Its like someone is flipping a coin in the VAR box

Too bad for WBA - they are really going to need those points in April.

Spurs turn.

That handball rule is a joke and as mentioned there is zero consistency.

You only have to look at last week at the penalty given against Lindelof (which this forum was very quiet about ) and then later on in the same day the clear and obvious one that Gabriel got away with.

Clocked the time play was stopped for the review and was two and minutes left in added time. Play restarts after the goal and time is blown after a minute. They can't even do the basics like track time.

Having said that........LOL!

Spurs goalkeeping coach determined not to be outdone by Uniteds feat yesterday gets himself sent off after the final whistle.

Allegedly, it all evens out in the end. I mean sure, VAR was supposed to put an end to that, but here we are. It’s the ridiculous inconsistency that makes it hard to watch at this point. Chelsea with a clear handball yesterday, still get the tying goal. Earlier today, the ball clearly hit Lascelles in the arm, no review or anything. Ball goes off Dier from a foot or two away (from behind no less) and a team with no shots on goal through 95 minutes gets a penalty awarded. It’s just a farce.

Overall, Spurs were dominant. The first half was probably the best half we’ve played in months and we were cruising to a well deserved three points.

I just don't see how those handballs are penalty worthy. The Palace one was a joke yesterday, and Spurs got hosed today as well. Fix the god damn rule already.

Added goals are good but i think the problem is no one knows what they are meant to call. Sometimes it seems like any trivial contact with the arm at all is a pen, but then you see them let a few obvious ones go like the chelsea handball. How close the arm is to the body seems to be all over the map.

It feels like a rule that is tough to enforce for the refs as well, it reminds me of the nhl trying to call hits where "the principle point of contact" is the head instead of all hits where people get hit in the head. You have people breaking down hits in slo-mo trying to determine which bodies parts touch first and its not an exact science.

For me, call em all, any arm contact in the box at all or let everything but the intentional ones go (still judgment based but a bit better) but an arbitrary grey line like this in a multi billion dollar stake industry is not great business.

Correction. Kane wasn't sent off. It was their goalkeeping coach.

Rule will have to change. Just reading the support from RMS game. They got a late penalty based of a handball where the ball struck the Betis player's hand as he put his hands out whilst falling.

Becoming the story of a lot of games.

Jose. The Tottenham box is "special".

it's funny how much money they've spent on defense in the last decade and are still stuck with that ####show. Those were some boneheaded challenges to concede those penalties too.

All three penalties were very dumb plays by their defense. Might force them to bust out another £50 million on a fullback before the deadline.
