ECQF: Washington Capitals (M1) v Carolina Hurricanes (WC1) — CANES WIN SERIES 4-3
My prediction: Caps in 7. The Hurricanes have had a very impressive 2nd half, but so too have the Caps. The defending champs get it done on home ice in game 7.

Caps in 5/6. Canes don't have the goaltending.

I like both of these teams. Carolina in 7.
Carolina is pretty good. I was going to say that I didn't trust their goaltending, but Petr Mrazek has been outstanding for the past few months.

I smell an upset. Stanley Cup Hangover is a real thing. Carolina plays the overall game style of a winner (not that the Caps don't, but you get my meaning). As long as their goaltending is passable, I give them a serious chance to win this one.
Hurricanes in 7. Back and forth affair.

Capitals in 5 games. I feel the Capitals had a kind of under the radar 104 point season and probably have another gear in the playoffs. They used to enter the playoffs with uncertainty but they should now be going into the playoffs with confidence.

Battle tested Caps take this one in 6 games. Carolina tries the surge but comes up short!

Canes have overcome a lot of adversity this year. They've gelled as a group.
