Did someone turn on the molasses mod again? Forum has been crawling the last few days.

Wasn't the last few days for me but I definitely see slowness now too, I'll take a look. I haven't been trimming big threads as much as I wanted to see if it's still something we need to do and it looks like it is so I'll probably have to do new versions of some of the larger threads.

I'll dig a little more over the weekend, it still seems to me that the disk speed isn't what it should be.

I thought it was a certificate issue, everytime I went to change pages, my browser had a unsecure site warning and went searching for an SSL certificate.

At least that's what I think it was doing.

Yeah the database is spending a large amount of time waiting for IO from the disk, much more than it usually did before. I'll probably do some basic maintenance stuff but if that doesn't resolve it I'll have to contact the guys hosting it.

Did a bunch of stuff and didn't see much change. I pruned a bunch of the threads nearing or over 10,000 posts and that seems to be helping.

But I still see the basic IO problem for the database server, so I'll contact the hosting and see what's up.

I’m testing replying from Tapatalk, seems to be working. Maybe kill and reload the app.

I did a reinstall. It’s something in the Canadian Politics Thread or when I navigate from “notifications” to there.

Ahh. That thread (among others) was pruned and most of it removed (once threads get over a certain size they can hurt performance).

It could be that the notification points to the old version of the thread which is in an archive area which most people can't access. That actually makes sense since the error says something about permissions.

If you navigate to the new thread and setup a new notification on that thread that should avoid the error.

Hm I never thought about that when pruning huge threads, I could probably get around that though doing so would require a lot more work to prune a single thread.

I’m getting issues with pages not loading and then double posting.

Is it just me or the forum?
