So it's like every other Battle Royal, except the Royal Rumble, except for when they want the title shot to change hands or become a triple threat or whatever other nonsense.

I think we're basically in agreement that the Casino Royal isn't that meaningful, I just don't see whether it is or isn't perceived as such as being an indictment on the promotion.

The fact that we all know that jungle boy won’t win makes us view future casino battle royale matches as pointless cause winning it it won’t lead to anything big. Can you imagine if the winner of the Royal Rumble lead to a match on a typical episode of Raw?
Jungle boy isn’t as over as you think. Did you watch him walk out The ramp a few minutes ago? People sang along to his Tarzan Boy Theme but cheers were luke warm. He might be good in the ring but he’s got nothing for mic skills
The crowd was going nuts for him in the actual battle royal

The Hitman Biography is on tonight, I'm looking forward to it.

Also a lot of the Dark Side of the Ring docs have been dropping on Crave. The latest one is on Grizzly Smith, the father of Jake the Snake, Sam Houston and Rockin Robin, and its ugly to watch.

Can't believe I'm posting in the wrestling forum but hey! I've watched all of these except the Shawn Michael's which I have on pvr. They are excellent.

Anyone else watch the Hitman biography tonight on A&E? It was awesome. Lots of Calgary content in there too. Highly recommend others watch it if you want a window into Bret's and the Hart family's story.

Ugly because of the human being Grizzly Smith was (according to what I've heard from interviews with Jake) or ugly because it was poorly done?

Well done...but hard to watch. All of Smith's kids talk about what a POS he was.

If you don't watch that episode and come out feeling uncomfortable about what you've watched, I'd be shocked. Its almost understandable that Jake and Sam Houston went through the life that they did.

I just watched the Hitman biography. I loved wrestling with shadows. I thought it was an amazing piece of film work and historic in terms of revealing the business of wrestling, and the Hitman. But this biography was better. Getting that glimpse into the story lines, the good and the bad of the Hitman. You remember why he was so incredibly good at what he did. The Hitman is the ultimate story teller. Though they did rush through his WCW story and the Goldberg injury, and completely left out the sad story of the lawsuit that destroyed that family, as well as the estrangement of Martha and Owen's kids. One of the great betrayals when you read Bret's book is that he stood by Martha against the WWE, and once she had the settlement she dropped him and pushed him out of Owen's kids lives.

At times during this documentary you realize that while Bret had amazing technical abilities, and unparrelled story telling, that he's either shy, or he's just a guy who's incredibly serious. Unlike the other biographies, Bret doesn't tell funny stories from the road, he's very matter of fact and a bit guarded. That's why the ending was so heart warming as they showed him interacting with his family.

I think this was a great biography, the Michael's one was probably a bit better because Michael's embraced his flawed self. Bret hinted at his flaws but never really expanded on them.

Now I need to go and watch some of Bret's matches on the network, especially his matches against Curt Henning.

I must have put that match on VHS rewind a million times. His match with Henning was just unbelievable, and the crowd was red hot. Holy crapola did those two know how to wrestle - masters of their trade, second to none.

Probably the two best craftsmen that the business has ever seen. The only other guy that I would put up there was Bob Backlund before he adopted the insane gimick. I still think the world was robbed of a Kurt Angle Bret Hart matchup. Especially a Bret Hart heel anti-American. That would have been money.

There were so many amazing Hart matches, The Bulldogs versus the Hart Foundation before Dynamite exploded his back. I know its a sin now but Bret vs Benoit in Kansas, its a shame that match is erased from history. Bret Versus Shawn, and not the Iron Man match, but the earlier stuff, Stone Cold versus Bret, the Booker T series against Bret though in a promo, Bret snarked at Booker that he wanted to Axe him a question (Whoops).

From the Stampede days, Bret versus Bad News and Bret Vs Stomper still stand up to this day.

Did he? Or did he just show more of his true identity (exaggerated for effect, of course)?

Did you watch the WWE Most Wanted Treasures episode w/ Sgt. Slaughter? They went to Backlund's house to get some Iron Sheik stuff and Backlund was still trying to play his character. They did say that he is very old school in trying to protect wrestling like they did back in the day but... I don't know.

So, I'm behind on Dark Side of the Ring.

Just finished the Nick Gage episode.

I didn't know of him before the episode, and was captivated by the whole thing.

Jon Moxley was hilarious in it.

One question: Ughhhh... who paid for the helicopter to airlift him to the hospital? There's no way he had insurance to cover that. I can't imagine that the entire payroll of the event combined would have been able to afford that.

I'm weird, but that question is gonna keep me up tonight.

Geez the people following Bailey and Belair must be wondering how they're going to top that from a just destroying each other point of view.

Great match

That was a very good fun PPV, except for the Cesaro Zayn match.

I have a couple of expectations.

Yeah, absolutely Drew is winning Money in the bank. Or they bring in the Yellow Dog, or what was Hulk Called, Captain America or something like that.

Who is this masked man who won Money in the Bank.

Heyman is going to stab Reigns in the back and bring back Brock Lesnar. Reigns really doesn't need Heyman except as a booo magnet.

Becky is going to come back, turn heel and go after Rhea. Belair is going to be champ for a long time.

Honestly I was happy to see Alexa in the ring again working. She just has good instincts, though the magical stuff I could do without.

Ha this made me laugh but at the same time its directly linked to the WWE product. They reached out and hired a writer for Raw by the name of Keniece Mobley. She goes out and does a interview where she calls Bobby Lashley, Bobby Ashley (How can they not bring in a guy with that name for a quick feud). She states she knows nothing about wrestling, doesn't know anything about the Hurt Business, clearly didn't do her homework on the product. And promptly gets fired.

Looks like the WWE is making more staff cuts today with an eye on writers because some genius stocked the writing room with people that have never had exposure to the business. (Explains how Alexa now is a hyptno toad.)
