Default quarantine concerts

There is a soundtrack album from Colm Wilkinson and the Toronto cast! Highly recommend.

I saw that performance.

Up next from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musicals is ‘Love Never Dies’, his sequel to Phantom of the Opera.

You can watch it on Friday, April 24.

Amazing to me that a mannequin can go on to star as the phantom for so long. Not sure where he put his hat

Thank you so much for this. It was like gold to me. I love Travis Barker but he always has his drums mic'd so low (With the toms tuned low and the snare tuned high) that you barely hear the notes. He explained that he likes it because it was a crutch where he had to work twice as hard as other drummers to make the same impact.

He tuned them right down to Dave Grohl circa Nirvana levels and it was like exstacy for me as a Travis fan. Plus I didn't even know he was the drummer when I clicked it and had never heard Post Malone assuming he was straight rap.

So that whole thing was just incredible. Thank you so much.

Out of curiosity why does it hurt? Watching it, it kind of sounds like she's still struggling with drug addiction and possibly even performed on Heroin?

Agreed. I am kind of blown away they could sing/play an hour 20 set of Nirvana songs that they couldn't have rehearsed more than a week or two?

The band was tight, Post Malone was solid on guitar and vocals all the way through. It was so different than what he normally does no stage. I'm impressed.

My 12 yo skater son is a huge fan of Post Malone and thinks all my music sucks. I'm curious to see what he makes of this if I can get him to watch it when he gets back next week.

I'm especially impressed with Travis. Historically he's always been an anti-cover guy, really not liking the idea, opting instead for always creating something new.

In fact as soon as I saw him I thought "Oh crap, he's going to wing it and won't capture any nuance of Grohl's drumming". What a treat to see him just nail everything on deep, penetrating drums.

No show this weekend, but rather a celebration of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 50th birthday concert from 1998.

https://www.standard.co.uk/go/london...-a4424856.html

Michael Ball, Glenn Close, Sarah Brightman, Elaine Paige, Antonio Banderas and Boyzone are a few of the stars who came together to pay tribute to the musical composer at the Royal Albert Hall.

The celebration will be available to watch for 48 hours from 7pm on Friday May 1 on The Shows Must Go On YouTube channel.

Close performed songs from Sunset Boulevard, while Brightman sings a selection of tunes from Phantom of the Opera. Boyzone, at the height of their 90s popularity, sing No Matter What, a song from Whistle Down The Wind, with which the boy band had a number one hit that same year.

Further performances include Elaine Paige singing Memory from Cats, Donny Osmond singing songs from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Banderas, who had recently starred in the film of Evita alongside Madonna, singing songs from the same musical.

I first clicked it having no idea he'd be part of it and was super excited to see him on the drums too.

I dabbled in drumming a bit when I was a teenager so have been a Travis Barker fan since then. One of the best drummers of my era as a music fan.

Something different and interesting just because of the Fortnite mashup.
Not a big Travis Scott fan and not sure he's even rapping live here, but interesting concept.

Not a concert but so so neat. A virtual Kentucky Derby with past champions competing based on an algorithm of stats, times, wins/losses. Of course Secretariat won. I would have loved to see a virtual Ruffian smoke the boys but...sad. It was pretty neat none the less. Citation and Secretariat down the stretch...
