Didn't Superstore always had a $3 to $5 fee for their pick-up service? It would be sort of weird if they didn't. I have never used it but it seems very reasonable to me.

There was a fee before COVID, then free for awhile, then they went to charging for weekends. It's still free midweek.

Has anyone else tried Instacart? They added Costco this week so I set up a delivery for Tuesday. I love Costco but I'm avoiding it for now to save me from a panic attack.

I'm also getting stuff from Superstore delivered today. It was supposed to come within two hours but now I got an email saying it'll be more like 3. That's ok as long as I have it in time to make supper.

Instacart is ok but they add a markup on all products from Costco and also charge delivery as well I think. A friend of mine used it for a month or two then stopped as it was just easier/cheaper to buy in store

I was going to try it a month or two ago when my Amex Platinum had a special promo but then I did some research and found that most people weren't recommending the service or had poor experiences so I didn't bother signing up.

They have a two week free trial so I gave it a shot but the markup is noticable so I doubt I'll use it often. It's nice to know it's available because shopping can be a hassle.

My Superstore delivery just arrived after about 90 minutes and everything is as I ordered. No complaints here.

So I've used Instacart three times and I have no complaints about the actual service. The shoppers are friendly and helpful and the deliveries all arrived early within the promised time window.

The only issue is the price. You're paying at least 10% more plus fees for the convenience. If that's worth it to you then you should give them a try.

It’s a 19 to 23% markup according to this blogger. Too much, I think.

Not a rug doctor but PetSmart is renting their Bissell machines. Have worked well for me the past few times. Rented it about a month ago so I assume they're still going.

Costco has 4L of gel hand sanitizer for $25. Oh, and it smells like tequila, so that's nice.

I don't remeber seeing anything imn 1L sizes. There were other smaller bottles though, not sure what they are. You going to pass up on tequila sanitizer? Your loss!

Here is a link I think a lot of people will find handy, safe, AHS approved and very easy to do at home. The think with wipes and a lot of other cleaning solution options are just paying for convenience and fancy marketing. It's the standard "Gillette Razor and Blade" business model. Continue to buy and replace items at much higher expense than having the same products made or kept long term.

A bucket or spray bottle, some clean rags and this AHS solution will do exactly what the wipes will do

https://www.albertahealthservices.ca...g-solution.pdf

I recall during the height of the pandemic back in March and April, a friend's wife, who suffers terrible anxiety had him literally running around every store in Calgary looking for wipes. I finally gave him the link to stop the madness of running around without a mask, attempting to get a cleaning solution to help prevent Covid. When I explained to him that Lysol wipes are just bleach and cleaning solutions, the look he gave me was as if I had given him a winning lotto ticket and invented fire at the same time. Priceless!

This is how restaurants, bars and, supermarkets and lots of other business clean and sanitize. It's not magic, but these companies make a fortune selling these modern day cleaning products.

Good luck, stay safe, save money and help the environment at the same time without the waste.

What's Costco like right now? Hear the lineups are back in anticipation of a lockdown.

Last week the Balzac Costco had a line midweek, Canadian Tire in Airdrie had a line this past weekend (both no more than 5 minutes).
