I might need to fly to Los Angeles in the next few weeks but I heard the western states may be banning travel. I will check with Air Canada and Westjet but it appears they are still flying into LA.

Afaik, direct to/from YYC are still available from/to LAX, Dallas/Ft worth, Phoenix and Minneapolis. May be others but not that I know of

Here are all the non-stop flights between Calgary (YYC) and the U.S. right now:

Denver (DEN) - United Airlines
Dallas (DFW) - American Airlines
Palm Springs (PSP) - Westjet
Phoenix (PHX) - Westjet
Los Angeles (LAX) - Westjet
Minneapolis (MSP) - Delta

Some info about California, Oregon, and Washington urging people to self-quarantine on arrival in those 3 states. Currently, the travel advisory is voluntary.

I hate headlines like that, they are misleading and create a false sense of danger. The risk of spread on an aircraft is very small, it has been shown time and again. Just because a passenger later tested positive does not mean there was any spread on that flight.

Has anybody here travelled for leisure yet? I have a voucher I'm thinking about using in February.

I’m thinking Australia and New Zealand in March and April 2022. Sixteen months out I’m hopeful.

He died doing what he loved.

I have Quintero, TPC Stadium, Troon North and the Boulders booked. Other than golf I will be locked down at the house all week.

Well, made it down. Some notes:

- completely packed flight with the average age probably being 75 - 70
- in the phx airport absolutely everyone had masks on
- golf course everyone had masks and they are mandatory in the pro shops
- masks mandatory in all indoor spaces and everyone had them on although similar to Calgary some do not wear them properly
- overall I feel just as safe in Calgary as I donít here in Phoenix - the exact same rules are in place

I’m seeing lots of chatter in our community Facebook group about people traveling to (mostly) Mexico. It gives me hope that we may be able to get somewhere this winter, maybe Puerto Vallarta, Hawaii, or the Caribbean. Only if we can be relatively safe with minimal inconvenience. No thanks if we have to quarantine at both ends.

I must have been on the same flight as you. Pretty surprised to see the number of seniors on the flight.

I am as well - especially given the escalation over the weekend. To be honest I am glad to be down here for the next 7 days and see where everything settles. Coming back to work I have set myself up to working from home anyway so it wonít impact me. Maricopa county is doing similar to Alberta but with far more people.

Feel free to send me questions if you guys want. Testing coming back is super easy as stated above. I was one of the first to go through so I am guessing it will be even easier now.
