Clint Malarchuk. The guy has bested every odd thrown at him, including imminent death, twice.

Plus the guy is a beast.

I agree datsyuk is very unique in the way he plays... I personally think he is the best player in a one-on-one scenerio in the league. But I seem to recall his style looking familiar to kovalev and Denis Savard in their prime. They had that same style of ridiculous skill and were so strong in the puck. I might be way off base on that thinking though.

Lucic is a good pick for being unique. The way he skates and the way he plays such a strong straight line game is very unique... Rather than try to dangle through people or swing wide like Rick Nash, Lucic literally pushes through defensemen... I don't think anyone else does that.

That's a very liberal use of the word arguably.

A better sentence would be he definitely isn't the best fighter in the league but can score 60 points when he isn't being sat out because of laziness.

Jagr. Even at age 42 the guy still owns the puck. He occasionally lets others play with it.

Datsyuk is a lot different than Savard or Kovalev as he is a complete player....gifted but totally committed to defense and exceptional with and without the puck.

Completely agree for sure... Neither of them were nearly as good defensively as him. I should clarify... When they have the puck, I think they are similar. Similar style of deking and using their feet to deceive players.

Solid rebutal. Really helps move the dialogue along and certainly doesn't derail the thread.

Even though your pathetic post doesn't deserve a response I will show you why the original post was ridiculous.

Is there a single, rational person that thinks Lucic is a better fighter than McGrattan? Colton Orr? You really think if Lucic fights Orr Lucic wins? Patrick Bordeleau is losing to Lucic now as well?

Reaves, Maroon, Gadzic likely all beat him as well.

So no he is not arguably the best fighter in the league. He likely isn't top 10 and maybe you could try and argue for top 20.

So instead of whining about others knowing nothing about hockey how about you actually try and defend your ridiculous statements and show whether you know a thing or two or not.

Or just go back to crying about Fleury.

I didn't say positively the best fighter. I said arguably. Maybe if you understood the difference between arguably and definitely then you would have a point.

And the question is most unique.
First of all, he can stand toe to toe with any of those guys you mentioned.
Secondly those are all enforcers. Why he is unique is because he fights like an enforcer but still puts up points.

But seriously every post you have ever had just reeks of stupidity.

Gretzky, Lemieux, Ovechkin, Avery, Fleury were/are unique.

MacKinnon is a unique player I think. Bure like speed and can shift gears like nobody else in the league.

Theo Fleury - imagine being drunk and high and still go out there and score goals night in and night out.

He isn't arguably the best. There is no argument between him and McGrattan. McGrattan is better.

You also never said excluding enforcers.

Instead of throwing out personal insults and claiming others don't know what the word means you should try and understand it because you clearly don't.

Dude, he's the most feared player in the league for a reason.

MacGrattan? Because Lucic certainly isn't the most feared.
