Nice!

Really like the move. Absolutely need more right handers.

Highly doubt Rinaldo sees an NHL game with this depth.
Have to think Robinson, Phillips and Gawdwin will be in the ahl unless an injury occurs

I’d put him on a 3rd line with Bennett.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Mangiapane - Backlund - Tkachuk
Dube - Bennett - Leivo
Lucic - Ryan - Simon
Nordstrom

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Mangiapane
D. Dube - S. Bennett - J. Leivo
M. Lucic - D. Ryan - D. Simon

Nordstrom
Gawdin
Phillips
Rinaldo
Robinson

Like the bottom 6 a lot more than last season, especially if Bennett can avoid being a flash in the pan.

Cheap contract for a guy that had a 40 point pace last year. Could be a real value signing.

Everytime we would play against him or I would see him play I would end up getting Levon by Elton John stuck in my head. I'm doomed if he's getting regular playing time.

Didn’t see another depth signing. Doesn’t this actually put us over the cap now?

And the likelihood of Rinaldo ever playing gets more and more remote.

That one scout strikes again....

Guy looks primed to break out, but just can't stay healthy. Also had a big set back on his knee. In theory should have been ready for an April play-off but wasn't ready for August.

Potential to be a top-six guy is there.

Live look-in at the Flames' pro forward depth chart:

Tkachuk
Gaudreau
Monahan
Lindholm
Backlund
Mangiapane
Ryan
Bennett
Leivo
Dube
Lucic
Simon
Nordstrom
-- 13 NHL forwards above --
Gawdin
Robinson
Phillips
Rinaldo
Froese
Philp
Tuulola
Zavgorodniy
Ruzicka
Pospisil
Kirkland
Pettersen

With Pelletier and Zary as wildcards depending on how they do in camp. They can only play in the NHL — otherwise, it's back to junior.

No, with this signing, the Flames will have a little over $1 million left with a 21 man roster and Kylington still to sign.

Assuming Kylington signs for around $750,000, they can start the season with 22 players and still have a little bit of space. It also gives them the option of a player like Mackey making the opening day roster and still being compliant with 22 players.

EDIT: Here, someone put together a cap compliant 22 man roster with this signing and projected contract for Kylington factored in: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2075953

Minor, but would Buddy not be higher up since he is on a one way deal and played on the big club last year?

Really happy with this signing. Hopefully Leibovitz is able to have a healthy season for us.

Now that's a little better IMO.

He would be a good 4th liner, not just an adequate one.

I like this and Nordstrom the most of the depth signings and I think those two will be the most useful.

I'm indifferent about Nesterov and Simon.

Failing to understand the point of signing Rinaldo at all.

So after years of taking Edmonton's castoffs, now we start taking Vancouver's?

Yeah I think a 13/7/2 22-man roster is all but set. Which I think makes a lot of sense given how the AHL team is rumoured to be located in close proximity this year.
