Shoemaker with a killer start again - 7.0 IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 8SO

Not really Blue Jay related, but Tulo hurt himself today with a left calf strain. Oh boy, the Yankees fans are going to have fun learning that Tulo just doesn't stay healthy,

that's 3 injuries for the yankees, Stanton out for a month and Andujar maybe out for the year.

Starters not named Sean Reid-Foley have been incredible so far!

Also not surprised to hear that about Tulo. Unfortunately his body is broken.

The list of key Yankees who are either injured or still returning from injury now contains eight players: Stanton, Andujar, shortstop Didi Gregorius, outfielders Aaron Hicks and Jacoby Ellsbury, and pitchers Dellin Betances, C. C. Sabathia and Luis Severino.

Also Grichuk seems to be happy with his new contract.

Grichuk with a double and two homers today. Id say hes feeling nice and relaxed with 50 million in his back pocket now.

They barely have anyone under contract next year. They need to fill positions. And they're going to find apparent value while filling those positions.
The AAV on the new deal $10.4m not $12m.

With this management teams focus on analytics, and Grichuk having high exit velocity and good launch angle on his hits, they see him as being 30 HR guy going forward.

Biagini must be more comfortable knowing his role is much more crystal clear this season. Thank god the starter experiment is over.

Giles looks especially good.

Sounds like Reid-Foley and Alford have been sent to Buffalo. I am guessing Hansen is going to be with the big club.

I wonder how many no hitters the Jays will be a part of this season?

I know that people weren’t that happy with the Blue Jays not re-signing Bautista and Encarnacion at the time but looking at Chris Davis in Baltimore is the alternative universe where they have those fan favourites the big deals they wanted.

Ohhh man Drury sucks ass, how do you take that strike down the middle?

Haven’t caught many Jays games so far, might just wait till Vlads up to watch them again. Just brutal hitting

Ya I am not quite sure if there is anything that Drury does especially well at all really.

This team is painful to watch offensively. Absolutely terrible at the plate.

I am trying to figure out if this team is really that bad offensively or if it's analytics and exit velocity that's the problem. Not everyone is a power hitter and not everyone needs to swing for the fences on every at bat. Situational hitting is a dying art. Guys like Gurriel Jr. and Drury should be spray hitters and the power will come. It just seems like everyone is too worried about exit velocity

Just DFA Drury. I don't care how good he is at chauffering kids like Brito and acting as their personal driver to and from places.
