Chelsea confirm that a deal with Real Madrid has been agreed for Thibaut Courtois. In exchange, Mateo Kovacic will join Chelsea on a season-long loan.

Winners everywhere. Courtois gets his move, Real get a top-goalie for cheap, Kovacic gets game time, Chelsea get a strong midfielder on loan and have obviously already signed a highly talented goalkeeper.

Only loser is probably De Gea.

Well Navas is definitely a loser, starter for three straight CL winners and sent packing unceremoniously. It's pretty late in the window for him to find a new home.

There are some shot stopping metrics that actually have the average goals saved per season stats for Navas actually being better than Courtois.

It makes sense since Courtois is only 26 and Navas is 31 but I'm not sure it's actually a significant improvement for RM.

^^Well for one thing I can't ever feel sorry for guys making millions to play a kids game, regardless of circumstance. But he's still a loser right now, he's out as starter and has pretty much nowhere to go.

why not? Only the English window closes tomorrow. He can still move to another club in Spain, France, Italy, Germany etc.

Worst case he probably ends up in Bilbao on loan to replace Arrizbalaga

Bilbao only sign Basque players ... or ones with some ties to the region at least.

Godin rejects a move to United. By 5pm BST today, they might be begging Ferdinand to unretire just to avoid another season of Smalling and Jones.

Wolves sign Dendoncker from Anderlecht. For me Wolves are gonna be the team to watch this season, if they can gel together quickly I definitely think they can threaten top 6.

Wolves have done a great job. Obviously they have the Mendes cheat code, but they look good on paper. Apart from CB maybe, but the rest is quality.

Everton, Fulham and West Ham have all had good windows as well, top half of the table should be a lot of fun to watch play out.

Leicester too. Losing Mahrez sucks, but they are holding on to Maguire and have signed some quality players (Evans, Pereira, Ghezzal, Maddison ... maybe Söyüncü too).

I hope so.

Always had a bit of a soft spot for Wolves due to their awesome crest and because they were kinda a fun team for a couple seasons there when they came back up in 2009.

Plus they have some great kits this season.

I liked them too. But honestly their backstory with Mendes and Fosun kind of makes me want to see them crash and burn, too

Drop the puck!

I mean.....kickoff already!

I eagerly await Mourinho's post-window presser.

Some writers have been calling it big 6, everton and leicester, and then the little 12

Betting odds have it more like biggest 1, big 5, everton, west ham/wolves/leicester, little 9, cardiff

I'm not even mad. Either that asshat finally coaches up the players he already has and has success, or the meltdown is in full swing and he's gone soon. I'm fine either way.
