This fellow got off the phone with Tre and the NHL had them put up in the Sutton Place while in the bubble. When they wound up against the Stars, Tre (Maybe the Flames org) lost thier ####. They didn't want to take the risk of being tampered with (I assume the players sleeping, hot water..etc I don't know what else) but thats a fair request not to be put up in the hotel that the opposition owns lol. I didn't hear if they eventually got located to another hotel or not.

Contradicts what was reported. It was made public that the Canucks as the higher seed was offered the move to the JW first, they turned it down and the NHL asked the Flames next. Gaudreau and Backlund were interviewed and said they wanted to move for a change of scenery and because the hvac at the Sutton wasn’t cold enough for Backlund.

They had enough space in the JW Marriott for six teams: St. Louis, Colorado, Vegas, Dallas, Edmonton and Nashville.
The remaining teams (Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Minnesota, Arizona and Chicago) were in the Sutton Place.
When Edmonton and Nashville were booted, their hotel spots were offered to Vancouver and Calgary. Vancouver declined, so Arizona got their spot.

IF you think Laine > Monahan by a thin margin, then I guess you could add Brodie’s neg rights which are worth maybe a 4th?
I wouldn’t do that trade though.

His rights would have zero value to the Jets. He’s not going there.
And I have no interest in Laine generally, much less giving Monny up for him.

:blink" What did the Flames do to you to hate them so much?
Monahan is a more valuable player than Laine, trading him for Laine straight up is stupid. Adding Gio as well is something even Chiarelli isn't stupid enough to do.

I would consider Laine and Jets first round pick for Johnny. Sign hall
Hall - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Bennett - Laine
Dube - Backlund - Mangiapane
That’s a pretty good top 6 and yup Flames will be screwed cap wise the following season but honestly If they can’t do anything with that group of forwards just tear it down.

Duchene is at his best when he’s playing 25 minutes a night. For a divisional rival.

Laine will one day quit hockey to become a full-time YouTuber who posts videos of himself playing Call of Duty.
