I don’t see BUF of any team giving up the type of assets like 8th or Cozens, certainly not both.
Face it fans, if JG gets dealt I would predict it’s much closer to what CRL got when they dealt Jeff Skinner.
I’d be prepared for that folks, I don’t want to see anyone jumping off the Centee Street Bridge.

I guess that is one way to view things. Expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised if it is not?
I disagree that Johnny is going to get a package that the Canes got for Skinner which was a 2nd and garbage prospects. This isn’t 35 year old, pending UFA, NTC Iggy we are trading. Also Skinner had a NTC where Johnny can be sent to 30 other teams
Agreed Flames would not get Cozens+8 but I do suspect they can get a High 1st or a 1st plus other valuable assets.
The other thing at the end of the day in a flat cap world I keep my point per game sub $7M player than trade him for scraps

So, chances are at least 50-50, then.

I think that Domi from the Habs trumps this, just because of positional relevance. They could also offer Danault+

Unlikely guys like Parise or Suter or waiving their NMCs unless it's to a more legitimate contender (who are unlikely to have the cap space or interest...even at 50% retention in might be tough to make work, unless there is a worse contract like Ladd involved).

Also mentioning Backlund and that has me a lot more intrigued. Backs NTC is just a 10 team list from a full NTC last year.

Still a full NTC until next off-season.

Id do Monahan for Dumba in a heartbeat.
Im of the opinion once John goes Sean will be effectively useless.

Boeser being from Minnesota I could see him being of big interest but I agree Domi fits better. Boeser is signed for 2 years at less than Dumba’s money where Domi needs a long term deal and if he is not keen on the Wild he could demand more from them

I will concede that the NTC list that Skinner had is a considerable factor. I just don’t see anyone taking JG on considering his reputation as a non playoff player mixed with the flat cap.
I’m thinking Risto, one of their pro ready goalies and picks.

lol you can't be serious...JG has a GREAT contract and 19 points in 30 playoff games isn't up to his regular season level but it is better than a lot of players

They are very unlikely to move Jokiharju. Change him to Risto and it is much more realistic.

Lebrun hearing Dumba linked to Winnipeg per tsn1040
'@PierreVLeBrun on what he's hearing from the #Canucks# perspective today is to shed money & create cap room so that they can address Markstrom & potentially Tanev/Toffoli.
Team he heard connected to Dumba today is Winnipeg.

Minny is a veterans paradise.
they're clearly looking at Sutter + Stecher + Virtanen for Dumba

How does that make remote sense for Winnipeg?
They have Helleybuck making $6M what use is Dubnyk?
I assume the pick is 9th overall but even then Dumba+9 can be beaten by a lot of teams of Laine is on the block.
