Sharks focused their bids in round 1 on 2 players and made 2 bids; Jeff Carter and Big Byf

Very happy to get Jeff Carter to insert into the lineup at a reasonable price. We are very surprised on the offer made to Byf...I guess he is still a top D but we just couldn't afford to offer that contract as a UFA. Sad to see him go and now his contract stinks so I doubt we will try to trade for him back!

Craig Anderson for 2 years could be a touch risky but it was no secret that St. Louis needed an upgrade in net. I would have preferred Howard, bit figured there would have been less competition for Anderson

Very happy to add Rinne, needed a goalie for next season and I liked the fact that he's signed on past his current NHL contract.

4 starters in Carolina so I'm going to have to figure things out but excited I have Rinne and now Crawford as a backup next year
