I hate what this iOS update has done to the search bar.

It doesn’t go at the bottom. It is on the bottom of literally no other browser.

Why is it there?

With it on the bottom you get more real estate because of the notch.

I'm slowly adjusting. It's well done, but the instinct is always the top of the screen. Sometimes i'll stare for like 10 seconds looking to find it.

New chips from Apple. M1 Pro and M1 Max. Addresses my biggest criticisms of the M1 which was the limited RAM and limited # of external displays.

I wonder if they'll put one in a mini.

$2000 US for the 14" and $2500 for the 16", the Apple store seems to be getting hammered hasn't loaded for me yet to see the CDN pricing.

No mac mini version

Oh it came up.

14": $2499 for the 8 core M1 Pro, $3149 for the 10 core.

16": $3149 for the 10 core M1 Pro, $4399 for the M1 Max

Oh I didn't notice new AirPods. I really don't like earbuds that go into the ear canal, so my choices for earbuds has been decreasing rapidly. I used to use these:

But they were discontinued. The old AirPods I tried but the shape hurts my ears, even with the silicone covers you can get, but these look shaped different, might give them a try.

Though really I'd still like a good pair of wired earbuds that I can wear around the house or to go to sleep with listening to audiobooks.

Did they bump up the price of the AirPods Pro? I paid a lot less than $329.

I've seen them for quite a bit less on Amazon and Best Buy etc yeah.

Also interesting that Apple decided to finally listen to people and brought back some ports and a card reader.

Yeah that's a plus. But they added a notch just for the webcam? No Face ID. At least it isn't taking up important real estate on MacOS. It'll suck for people who boot camp Windows though.

Good God MBPs are expensive... My 2011 13" was $1150, and that was a lot at the time. The modern equivalent is literally double that. Yeesh.

Because nothing should go at the top by default.

Hold your phone with one hand and try reach the search bar with your thumb. It sucks! I've been griping about this for years. Same with stacking the home screen icons to the top instead of the bottom.

Plus now you can swipe to change tabs.

It's so so much better.

Moving the search bar to the bottom is one of those simple changes that makes a big difference on a phone.

iOS 15 update make anyone else’s Siri go stupid? I see the known issue for voice commands not working right with AirPods but now it also constantly misunderstands me when I try to get it to add songs to playlists etc.

Check your CarPlay settings and if there is nothing wrong delete the phone from CarPlay and re-add it. I know people who had CarPlay turned on by default after the update.
