I'm making the switch over to LightSpeed (runs off shaw lines for cable). Don't have anything yet about them since the service won't start until this coming Tuesday.

Website is fairly basic and you have to call in for everything, but the reviews I've seen are generally positive and the cheapest of the bunch at this time compared to VMedia, Nucleus, Cancom, etc...
How was the transition? I'm also on TekSavvy but Lightspeed is quite a bit cheaper. The only reason I haven't switched already is that some people reported some delays/issues and I didn't want that to impact my WFH situation.

The transition went ok. The switch over was on the 7th. I called TekSavvy to cancel for the 7th about a week beforehand.

I woke up on the 7th and I didn't have any internet access. Went to work and by the time I go home at 930pm it was already connected.

To be safe, I say take a day or 2 just to be absolutely sure that you will have connection during the transition.

I owned my cable modem so I didn't need any new equipment for it, which may have helped with the transition.

Same. They're also currently installing Fibre on my street so I'm really looking forward to that.

If Telus has fibre in your area there is pretty much no reason to go with anything else

This is what's preventing me from switching right now. In-laws are staying with us and they needed phones, which don't cost us anything right now through Shaw. If I switched to Telus that would be an extra $30/mo right there. I'm surprised Telus hasn't rolled out anything to compete with that, but maybe they're hoping Rogers kills it when they take over

Over the years I tried to switch to Telus three times unsuccessfully. Would sign up for an appointment and when the time came they would call and cancel because it turned out the service was not available on our street. After the third time I asked if there was an estimate as to when it might be available, the rep said never, they underbuilt the infrastructure on our street and it wasn’t capable of being upgraded. That doesn’t sound right but that’s what I was told so here I am still with Shaw.
