Well the Flames have about 46 Russian prospect goaltenders. Can we get any to come to NA next year?

Yan Kuznetsov is a massive sleeper for us. I love how his development seems to be going, too.

A real nice attempt by Klapka at 1:06:

I haven't seen him play, is he a potential Bahl-lite?

2019 drafted Dustin Wolf 7th round, he's in the NHL ad a fricken stud
2020 drafted Chechelev, Daniil 4th round, he's in the VHL/KHL he's pretty much a non-factor but Flames hold his rights in perpetuity
2021 drafted Sergeev, Arsenii 7th round, he's in the NCAA and putting up good numbers, hold his rights until Aug. 15, 2026
2023 drafted Yegorov, Yegor in the 6th round, he's in the MHL with ok numbers, hold his rights in perpetuity
2024 drafted Zarubin, Kirill in the 3rd round, he's in the MHL putting up good numbers, hold his rights in perpetuity

They also signed Ignatjew, Waltteri last year and he's in the AHL and not putting up good numbers so far

Devin Cooley is 27 and a UFA after next season, so I wouldn't call him a prospect, but he's performing in the AHL so he could be considered an asset I guess.

Jan.10th:

Wranglers lose 5-2 to the Colorado Eagles, and are now in a 3-way tie for 1st in the AHL. Three Stars were all Eagles.

Hunt (Tinordi) Short-handed, 3:49 of the 1st.
Bishop (unassisted) Short-handed, 0:40 of the 3rd.

Cooley leaves the game at 39:54, after stopping 12 of 16. Must be an injury, as his departure doesn't coincide with any goals.

Could also just be that the Wranglers were down by three after 40 and they have a back-to-back, so you can save Cooley's heroics for a night when the group is performing a bit better.

Cooley made a wacky diving save at the very end of the second, then Ignatjew came out to start the third.

Although now that I say that, the Wranglers have called up Connor Murphy...

Ignatjew has a 3.81 and .876 in 12 GP

Cooley on the same team is 2.10 and 9.33 in 25 GP

Hopefully he can turn it around a bit but rough go so far.

My youngest son and I were at this game and the second period 5 on 3 was the turning point.

Wranglers scored first and it was 2-2 at that point when a full 2 minute 5-3 was called.

Fugly after that and my son said, “I never want to leave a hockey game early, but it’s 5-2 with 6 minutes left in the game and I’m sick of these Eagles fans!”

Needless to say, we left 6 minutes early and missed that final 2 Eagles goals.

No real standouts in this game as that 5 on 3 really deflated the entire team.

From the must improve aspect: Wranglers need to work on clearing the zone more efficiently and decisively.

Sounds basic, but it wasn’t on Saturday night.
