For uncomfortable truth, there is Al Gore.

I respect your intent

Al Gore’s truth is inconvenient, I believe

Point was, it’s not funny. This is (should be) a comedy show.

We can respectfully vary on this.

Sometimes sensitive topical issues can be incorporated in humour and actually some of the things he says would be heard in a comedy club and less likely on TV

Also, lots of people were laughing live, so I really can’t support you here

Sure it wasn’t your taste

But a lot of it was funny

Chappelle's monologue, Aunt Jemima/Uncle Ben, Update, the OJ sketch, and the Foos were all great.

"Times Like These" was a perfect song for the moment, and I dug their new tune as well. Overall, a pretty great show IMO.

I know Dave Chappelle's focus is on his stand-up, but watching him tonight it really makes me think about what we missed out on after Chappelle's Show. He's a brilliant stand-up comedian, and he's a brilliant sketch show artist.

I’ll add that I’m pretty sure Chapelle chipped in on the writing for the skit with Beck Bennett and Ego Nwodim where she ends saying “He loves me”

That isn’t normal SNL writer fare

Nah, it's comedy

I love Dave Chappelle. Great show.

My favorite was the Beck/Ego sketch.

The new Foo song was missing something for me, but Times Like These was awesome.

That was a great episode. Would have liked to have seen Chappelle in more sketches but it was still a lot of fun.

Bill Burr told similar jokes when he hosted.

That was the first episode I've actually watched in years.

Chappelle was great. He was spot-on at the end. Usually when he performs there are one or two jokes that make me go "ehhhhhhh" but that comes with the territory.

What were on the masks at the end of the show? All I saw was a big C, any ideas?

the repeat episode aired last night was a Martin Short hosted episode from Dec 1996 (with No Doubt)

was chosen, I'm sure because it featured a celebrity jeopardy with Connery, Reynolds and Short as Jerry Lewis

they ended that skit with a nice silent tribute to Trebek

the episode in general (all thanks to Norm of course) featured digs at OJ both in the cold open and the weekend update

interestingly the weekend update (again this was 1996) featured a joke where the punchline was essentially everybody hates Donald Trump
